It's funny but I think Hopkins would beat Golovkin in a shocking fashion. I'm not sure this record would even be an issue if Golovkin was fighting Canelo like originally planned. GGG has proven himself elite over the last 18 months or so.

But Bernard Hopkins is a level above, there is no doubt about it. He had a solid but unspectacular resume, obliterated Glenn Johnson, Tito, and Oscar. There are some solid guys in there too. Even the loss to a young, lightening Roy Jones was very competitive, 8-4 7-5 type decision. Extremely high speed, skilled chess.

I can't see a guy like Canelo giving Hopkins too many problems, he has too much size and skill.

I think Hopkins could have beat GGG a number of ways, outboxed him, and if he got aggressive, he would have ate him up.
