Comments Thread For: Hearn Cautions That Joshua-Wilder Has 2-3 Weeks To Get Done

EDDIE HEARN has set a three-week deadline to strike a deal for Anthony Joshua to face Deontay Wilder this year. The WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO champion's promoter wants more information from Wilder's team about their 36m [$50 million] offer which would be the highest purse in heavyweight history.

Good why drag it out. Either negotiate and try to get it done or move on

Wait? Did he provide Team Wilder with all that information when he made the offer to them? Everyone knows that there was no way Hearn would let AJ agree to a 50 million offer and letting Team Wilder promote the fight and choose the date and venue.

This fight is not happening next. Hearn does not want it. He knows that he can get another couple of fights out of Joshua and make good money.

I think Joshua does want it but Hearn would advise him to wait.

I think Joshua should be fav in this fight but that does not mean Wilder can not win. Current performance on last 2 fights, I would give the edge to Wilder, only because Ortiz better than Takam and Parker. Which is not a bash at Parker.

If it’s in England, then it’s much more likely we would take the fight. Also is there a rematch? What channel is it on? What control do we have? Because AJ has major corporations sponsoring him.
More nonsense. It's obviously not going to be in England. They're not going to overpay AJ just to bring the fight to AJ's home. Even Hearn has admitted the fight would make more in Vegas and obviously part of the motivation for overspending on the fight is to maximize Wilder's chances of winning.

There's no rematch. Hearn knows that. That was clearly specified in the offer.

AJ's existing sponsorships and how to navigate that would be mutually agreed upon in negotiations. That doesn't stop Hearn from saying, "we agree in principle on 50 million, depending on the other details obviously, so let's start negotiating the other details."

If we accept their offer and then don’t go through with the fight because we’re not happy, then we look like shmucks.
No, they look like schmucks now refusing to accept the amount, 50 million, they specifically requested.

If they really want the fight, it'll get done. Haymon's not going to blow the deal over the color of the ring posts or which energy drink sponsors the fight. Hearn is just making excuses. None of this makes sense.

Not only is Hearn a scumbag but he's clueless to the market for Boxing in America.

Eddie sounds ******. Asking questions like what channel and where it would take place. It's pretty obvious to everyone that it would take place in Vegas and everyone knows that Wilder fights on Showtime just like AJ. Hearn wants answers to certain question before agreeing to an offer but expected Wilder to agree to his offer without offering the same details he's asking for.
