Joppy and Glen Johnson would beat Lemieux handily.

Trinidad would beat everyone on his resume.

Roy Jones would beat everyone on his resume.

Oscar would be his second best W.

Hopkins has been underdog at 160 twice and has been underdog over 10 times in his career. Oldest man to retain a title, oldest man to retain a belt. 313 title round fights, 3rd most fought in boxing history. AND most of all, undisputed champion. Something Golovkin has failed to do and realistically won’t do.

I can’t take this Golovkin statement seriously, probably something Sanchez told him to say
I don't even know why you are mentioning Roy Jones Jr. Roy beats everyone in the history of boxing at Middleweight, including Hopkins (and we all know Hopkins lost, so why bring him up?).

Trinidad beating everyone is arguable. He's a fantastic fighter, but no true middleweight. I would be very curious to see him go up against Jacobs, or even Canelo (a controversial decision).

Oscar de la Hoya: definitely not. He's a great fighter and better P4P than anyone on Golovkin's resume, but this discussion is about Middleweight. Did you even see the Felix Sturm vs. Martin Murray, Daniel Geale, and Matthew Macklin fights, or for that matter, Oscar vs. Felix Sturm (which was arguably a Felix Sturm win)?

Glen Johnson never beat anyone at middleweight. Joppy is a better win.

I mean, if we're being brutally honest, Golovkin is kind of right. Bernard's middleweight resume isn't much better/much worse no matter how you try to spin it. Felix Trinidad had too few of fights at middleweight, and was out his prime when he did and lost. Oscar de la Hoya was also another too small of a middleweight person. Great P4P fighter, but being a great P4P fighter doesn't mean you can move up and beat all the opposition. Everyone has their limits.

Actually the problem is, a person can say “GGG is a great fighter”. Then some butthurt asswipe will say, “ Hes not better than Hagler or Hopkins”. Why make the comparison in the first place?

He's fought in possibly the weakest middleweight era in boxing history. We will simply never know how Golovkin would fare against a world class middleweight, unless we are now calling Canelo an established middleweight.

Don't be silly. Ward is on record regarding the catchweight. Cotto paid GGG so he could make a career high pay day against Canelo. This was AFTER Team Golovkin made it clear that they would not come down in weight to fight.

You ever get dizzy from spinning facts?

No they don't. That's ggg fans who said Canelo had to fight him at the MW limit.

I can't recognize GGG. He is very strange nowadays. Chooses Martirosyan instead of Derevyanchenko. Talks ****** things.

I have never once been able to just say "GGG is a great fighter" here without at least 2 or 3 people crying about me including him with "the real greats" like Hagler, Monzon, SRR, etc, and calling me a fanboy, a casual who dksab, a gullible sheep, a mass shooter, whatever.

the problem is, and has been , when trying to tie golovkins name to Hopkins

it isn't what Hopkins accomplished at MW that made him a legend...in fact if he stopped fighting after his MW reign his career would be called into question and his resume broken down

golovkin can do whatever he wants and break Hopkins records...he will never be on par with b hop
