Bottom line is that at this level Canelo should know better. He is wealthy enough and sure knows that he is one of the top boxers in the sport. The tainted beef story simply is not going to fly
They probably pulled the hair from his a$$ where he could've shaved and waited till it grew back to give a sample. And which lab analyzed the sample? The one in the back of his house? smhhh

Good point. He got busted in February and probably gets a haircut far more frequently than once a month or two. Pubic hair would probably have yielded more accurate results, but who wants to sample that?

The NSAC knew they were going to forfeit a huge revenue experience for Vegas and anyone involved in making this fight, yet felt compelled to suspend Alvarez. That speaks volumes to me.

I get drug tested frequently at work. If it is a hair sample and your head is short they go for the pubic hair and they shave your legs if you have enough hair. The take a considerable amount of hair.

I'm totally against any form of PED's in boxing, hell i'd give any boxer a 5 year Ban the first time they test positive and a Life Time ban the second time.

We all know who the cheats are in Boxing, we should be EXPOSING THEM not an innocent guy like Canelo.

PED Cheats like Anthony Joshua are getting away with cheating due to the outdated testing procedures we have.

Major investment needs to put into Boxing to clean it up and get the most advanced testing available.

365 Days a Year testing is meaningless due to most boxers never actually getting tested especially months before a fight is announced.

The only way to catch cheats like Anthony Joshua is through DAILY URINE TESTS, that might seem over the top but its the only way to catch the cheaters.

My Proposal would be that ALL TOP 15 Boxers in their respective weight classes must enrol on to Daily Urine Testing. It would be costly but its the only way to ensure two boxers enter the ring 100% Natural.
It is not meaningless, not at all. If a boxer is only actually tested at randomly once every year (I have no idea if this is more or less) then the risk would still be too great.
If you think that a program that tests everyday could ever be reasonably implemented that's great but it seems like more than could be expected.

Considering I don't know jack about hair sample testing and nothing about the testing has come out. No parameters, nothing, zilch --- the test doesn't exist to me.

The reason the first test blew up is because we got figures that the community could analyze/deduce on our own which ultimatley led to his conviction. We need data to move forward in exonerating him, not just the word of a couple of flunkies saying this or saying that. WBC produced a bogus (paid off) Mexican Doctor to profess his innocence. What's the differenjce here? They've already tried cooking the books and got caught. We want more data and complete transparency.

Until then, Canelo is a cheater.

You must have a highly sensitive job. When I worked on jets, they only took random urine samples.

While I don't know about "always clean", I never suspected him of using something so easily detectable as clen, so close to the fight. Seemed obvious to me from day one it was a meat issue, because I've seen that before.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was using other stuff between fights though.

Are they ever. The funny thing is that they are very strict, everybody knows this and still people get caught dirty.

They take the hair as close as possible to the scalp. Then you have to get a buzz cut and look like an escaped mental patient.
