"Dear Eddie,
With all due respect you know Al and I for a long time and you know this is not a publicity stunt. I assure you that we’re serious and we would be glad to sit down with you and provide proper security for the funding and work out all the details.
But it all has to start with Anthony Joshua accepting the $50million offer that he asked for, which is also by far the largest guarantee and largest purse any heavyweight champion in history has ever made.
Until then, it would be non-productive to meet. Please have Anthony accept the offer that he asked for and let’s get this fight made.
Thanks, Shelly"
Wtf? Who does business like that?
Now this either some bull**** that Hearn and Wilder's team have cooked up between them to build up interest, or some bull**** that Wilder's team have cooked up on their own to try and make it look like AJ is ducking the fight.
As in .. AJ says, "I accept the offer" then when he sees the details, and decides he can't accept it after all - eg, because the money isn't actually there, it's, "hey see everybody, lookee here ... AJ is backing out of the deal we made!"Comment

contracts are drafted by both parties and agreed upon line by line. sometimes word for word. businesses agree to terms in principal, and then they write contracts. one follows the other.
if they want to move the talks forward they ask where the money is coming from, and if they want to agree they'll make sure they get it spelled out to the cent in writing.Comment

No, not at all. There's nothing that would bound Hearn to anything. They're simply saying, before we move on to other deal points, we need to know that you'll accept 50 if the other deal points are satisfactory. This is very common in negotiations. You have a million things you need to agree upon, so you know out the most important stuff first and then focus on smaller details. Nothing would stop Hearn from changing his mind. He wouldn't be committed to anything. He simply would be conceding that the 50 is an acceptable amount if the other details turn out to be satisfactory.Comment

If you're Finkel/Haymon and this $50m offer is legitimate, why would you NOT meet with Hearn to explain and negotiate the finer details? How can you realistically expect them to agree to anything before that?

Hope not, but this is starting to stink of a PR stunt after all 🙄
Pretty much. https://t.co/jpSdozk3BN

If AJ says, "yes, I will accept $50 million if the funds are secure and other details are negotiated to my satisfaction," then Wilder's side can say, "okay, we've agreed on money if other conditions are met, so let's sit down and meet those other conditions."
But if the money isn't enough, even if the other conditions are met, what's the point of sitting down to hammer out the other details when the money hasn't been agreed to?Comment

Sad.... And most of the people on here are just being snagged along... When in the hell has another promoter been called out on a guaranteed cash offer??? To where it gets to this mess? Wilder:s team is calling Hearn's bluff around every corner and people are still believing Hearn?????? First Hearn's side says we do not negotiate thru the media - we make offers and counter offers... Then he tries to down play the worth of the fight and say it will not do at least $100 mill - with all of the global ppv and live gate, streaming etc... It's like dam, give Wilder and his team his just do...I have never heard of Top Rank being called out/ Don King etc...Hearn got AJ his first belt thru a Haymon fighter for that IBF title and dude(I forgot his name) got a career high 7+ million when he and AJ where both building their names... Bias is a blinding bytch - wake up and be fans of the sport and hold these cats accountable ----- what the *** else do you want Wilder to do???? He has met these cats around every corner - they do not want the fight at the moment......periodComment
