its no fault of hatton's that mitchell and harris were running scared of him for years, this is pretty much a fact that those guys mitchell and harris just would not get in the ring with hatton. so what does hatton do? he beats the guys who beat the guys, tszyu and maussa. how can you criticise the kid? he has won all 41 fights and beat everyone who had the guts to get in with him, you cannot ask more of him.

as far as technique is concerned, hatton has the skills when he came of age in the ben tackie fight on showtime when he showed nice, sharp jabs and moved in and out of punching range so well it was great to see such skill from a short, squat fighter who everybody thought was just a brawler. that tackie fight really proved he was top class, people thought hatton would just attack tackie and tackie would batter him, but hatton totally befuddled ben with his foot movement and the lovely jab that i didn't realise hatton had. if hatton can go back to that form he can live with anybody as a boxer, not just a pressure fighter.

hatton's game was always speed, if he think he looked like his usual self in the collazo fight then you obviously haven't known of hatton for long. he was all about speed, in the hands, the feet, the tempo, everything.

he had zero speed against collazo, none. whatever reason, i dont know. but he did not have his usual speed against collazo. but he still somehow found a way to win so give him his dues.

Man, if your going to be a homer then Im not even going to respond. Everyone and there momma knows that Mitchell & Harris were screaming for a Hatton fight non stop so dont even try that ****. Even the die hard Hatton fans would admit that. Harris even came over there twice to fight Urkal just to get closer to Hatton

The bottome line for me is that if you Hatton fans are going to say that wasnt the real him against Callazo then you cant argue when guys say that wasnt the real Tszyu. He was older and looked much more slower and sluggish then normal. He was very flat against Hatton

im not a hatton fan, im just an admirer of his skills. no that obviously was not the 98-02 tszyu in there, but you cannot take anything away from the kid hatton because 95% of people including me felt that he was too hittable and tszyu would just put his lights out early then go home to australia to his wife and kids after a routine nights work.

give hatton credit, he said what he would do and he went out there and done it. he knew he could not box tszyu. he knew he could not even pressure tszyu, he knew he had to jump on him and not let him up for air. i found out afterwards that hatton saw tszyu's training dvd and noticed that kostya did very long hours in the gym at a slow pace, so he felt that kostya would not cope with the fast pace he was going to bring. he also studided tszyu's knockouts and realised that ksotya needed a little room to land the right hand at full force, ricky wasn't going to give him that room. he shocked the world, but he always knew he was going to win the fight.

no, we all know vivian kept pricing himself out, even emanuel was getting pissed with him. mitchell agreed to a hatton fight if hatton could beat tackie, when he saw how good hatton looked against tackie though he said 'wait til another time', he saw hatton look not so good against carlos vilches then agreed to a hatton fight, hatton then beats the crap out of mike stewart and mitchell does another u-turn.

I agree with that. He might be something special, but we are never going to know if he keeps fighting the quality of fighters such as Maussa & Urkal. There are plenty of big fights with big paydays beckoning.Seize the moment Ricky.
