Truthfully, I understand why Jacobs did what he did. The big 160 fights are all tied to HBO. HBO only deals with promoters so he had to sign with one and Hearn made the most sense.

Sadly, I don’t know if it translates to a GGG or Canelo fight for him. Sure doesn’t look that way right now. Wouldn’t surprise me if he has to bite the bullet and take on Charlo anyway by next year.

"Bite the bullet" is an excellent metaphor for what's going on here. Danny got the GGG call, missed his shot w/ the loss and then scrambled to avoid risking any potential rematch.

Funny thing though. By doing this, he's missed out on all opportunities to actually try and force a fight. He's not mandatory for any belt.

Charlo represents his easiest path back to a title shot due to the ******* rules of the WBC. Why he isn't kicking and screaming for that fight seems obvious to me. He doesn't want the risk.

Why would he fight a no name fighter for a lesser title? When he is the mandatory to boxing star ggg? That would be ******ed.

Because he should know that if GGG beats Canelo in September, he will be seeking to unify with BJ Saunders in the UK! So when does Charlo get a shot? 2020? Might as well become the IBF Champ in the meantime! And do it in H-TOWN!

These are the fights that should be happening but no one is willing to take that risk they’re happy to sit around and pray they win the Canelo/ggg sweepstakes

Jacobs not fighting none of those guys you mentioned. His ratings on HBO are horrible and he got bood in his last fight. Saunders doesn’t have a contract with HBO and GGG is Charlo mandatory he can either fight or vacate. Jacobs went to HBO and he still isn’t in the race for GGG or Canelo. Since moving up to 160 Charlo fought a bum on one leg and now another inactive bum in Centeno whos already been ktfo and quit vs J Rock.

Charlo ain’t getting GGG for a long time. He’s got Vanes in May and Canelo in Sept them his IBF mandatory is due before the WBC plus the WBC hasn’t even ordered it yet.

What you just wrote about HBO is nonsense. He went over there to sit in purgatory. Anybody with half a brain can see that. He's not getting any "money" fights anytime soon. Those other guys can take fights across the landscape. (There's talk of Andrade v. SD being on ESPN).

The only two that are locked up at HBO are Canelo and GGG and he's not getting a fight with either. Cut the b.s.

Canelo GGG and Andrade all have HBO contracts. Spike is with GBP. Sanders is going to fight Canelo or GGG before Charlo. Charlo brings no money. HBO would make Charlo vs Andrade Jacobs Sullivan though
