Talent-wise, I think Dervy and Charlo are both deserving of a title shot now. But resume wise, they haven't really beaten anyone at all at 160. With multiple belts/routes, it is kind of sad how a good fighter can maneuver his way to getting a title shot without facing another top contender. If one guy has all/multiple belts, he could spend the rest of his career just handling mandatories.

I think the best thing to do in situations like this (where one guy has multiple belts/has other big fights available at that weight), is to force the mandatories to fight each other. With the promise that the winner will then get a shot next at the champion for both belts. Fewer mandatory fights dictating a champions career, and we all get better fights out of it as well.

Charlo should fight Dervy for the IBF title! Dervy would come to Houston! He's built like that! No TV contract problems, no promoter problems, shouldn't be a problem at all! I think Charlo is a lot better than Taureano Johnson, so Dervy shouldn't be a major threat! Charlo vs. Derevyanchenko for the IBF (DO YOUR JOB) Middlweight Championship of the World!!!
