Problem is, when you actually look at who's actually being tested and when it turns out that they include the 8 week protocol which is standard with most big(ish) fights as satisfying the requirements of having been tested for the CPB...

I've not actually managed to break down the complete figures yet, but a glance at the lists of fighters tested and their fight dates seem to indicate that there's very little 24/7/365 testing going on and very much business as usual. I've been meaning to throw together an e-mail to VADA and ask for an actual list of which fighters have been tested outside of the agreed testing schedule for an upcoming fight. My su****ion is that it won't be a long list.
But if Spence wants to Unify with Keef, he needs to be sanctioned by the WBC.? Why would he put himself in the position to NOT be able to get that title too?

Robbie, do you have a link about the WBA making their top 15 piss in da cup? I know I heard they were thinking about it, didn’t think it came to fruition yet

My understanding is, he won't have to. You only have to if you're a RANKED in the WBC. Since he's a champ elsewhere, he isn't ranked anywhere else.

The World Boxing Association (WBA) Board of Directors voted in favor of the “Fair Boxing” program being implemented in a compulsory way in the regional and world fighting championships for the top 15 rankings of the organization. During the second shift of the WBA Board Meeting, they agreed by voting that boxers for this type of fights should be enrolled in the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) program. The motion was proposed by the President of the WBA, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, as a way to achieve a fairer sport.

I think him fighting Derevyanchenko after prepping for a orthodox fighter would’ve screwed him up tbh. All opinions... no worries about the remark..I gotcha bro
it would be ****** for ggg to fight him on short notice. From a fans perspective I’d have like to seen that fight but I understand why he wouldn’t take that fight on such a short notice. Canelo and GBP are idiots. They preached all that bs about cleaning up the sport but they were cheating the whole time.
His career will be tainted until he retires and this may set off the ending of Canelo. Also announcing knee surgery after testing positive was not the brightest thing to do from

They started off with the top 5 at the start of last year.

The World Boxing Association officially introduced its "Fair Boxing" program, which the sanctioning body designed to combat the use of banned substances in boxing. The announcement was made at a press conference earlier today in Panama City, Panama. Fair Boxing is a program that the WBA will regulate in a partnership with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).

Then voted to expand it to the top 15.

All he needs to do is sign to fight and voila - he's enrolled the CPB! In theory he would then be subject to random 24/7/365 drug testing... in practice... not so much. The WBC would announce that he's part of the CPB if he signs up for a standard 8 week pre-fight protocol, their lists of tested fighters would include his name.

                    1. Voluntary Enrolment (Pre-Competition Testing): Any boxer can enroll to become subject to In-Competition-random testing prior to participating in a WBC-Sanctioning fight. Upon such enrollment, VADA will set up a pre-fight random testing protocol which shall take place before the fight. So, if a fighter who is scheduled to participate in a WBC-sanctioned championship fight does not voluntarily enroll in the CBP Pre-Competition Anti-Doping Testing prior to the fight, he/she will: (a) still be an eligible fighter within the CBP Out-of-Competition testing and could be subject to random testing; and (2) will be subjected to the WBC mandatory testing under the WBC Rules & Regulations as set forth below.
