There’s all kinds of ways to put more money in the pot. Why not offer the $12M guarantee, with a chance at a 60/40 split if they reach a certain gross? Move the start time to accommodate American PPV, and let Wilder get the majority of whatever it does. If you trust what Hearn is saying(and for the record I don’t) about the fight only projecting to gross $40M-$50M. And Wilder’s team thinking it’s closer to $100M. There’s all kinds of ways to word contracts that would allow Wilder to make a lot more money if the fight is a blockbuster. And protect Team AJ if it isn’t. But a $12M flat fee with no gross revenue upside, take it or leave it, is a nice way to kill negotiations before they start.
If this fight can make 100million now then both Joshua and Hearn would be signing all the contracts now, they are in the business of making money. If there is money in this fight then Team Wilder would have comeback with a well thought out counter offer. But between 3 managers and American networks so far we have nothing.
So rather than go by frictional offers and PPV, I would go with what little fact that we have and that is SKY PPV and numbers that is guarantee to sell and pay both fighters.Comment

Moving the time to accommodate American TV would not make any sort of business sense, both have never sold any PPV to America. The only guarantee sale would be at British time on British PPV.

Indeed.
There's no reason why he can't offer a %, even if it's 32% or whatever. Why not offer % or a flat fee, give a choice and then it's up to Wilders team to decide if the % will be less or more than the flat fee, based on their predictions of money generated.
I just can't understand any reason to flat out refuse to offer a %, apart from the fact he knows a flat fee offer is likely to be turned down.
Turning down a flat fee is not a duck. Maybe it will be his highest purse by some distance, but if the fight is bigger than expected...Wilder ends up with a very small % of the income if he agrees to the flat fee and could've earned more with a % split.
Let's be fair, when talking big fights like this, it's always done in % splits. Hearn knows it.Comment

Why do you care about what they're earning or food being taken from Hearn's mouth? - He sure wouldn't think twice about taking yours.
This is the problem with boxing. Fans should remember they are the ones that put money into the sport. Promoters are only playing with money that comes from paying customers. Fans should be demanding the best fights get made at all costs, rather than taking sides of promoters and justifying things.Comment

I think he makes a fair point guys. It's a fact that Wilder is not a huge draw in America and neither is AJ. If this fight is going to generate any kind of revenue is going to be at the live gate in the U.K.Comment

AJ can make that money fighting other people. Maybe 20% less but not much less.
I don't agree with a flat fee. But I don't agree with 40% either. That's what PACQUIAO got against Mayweather... Wilder is not a draw. He deserves something between 20 and 35% max.Comment

Well it wouldn't matter anyway ....
Lou Dibella just awhile ago said HE felt no reason to respond to Hearns offer thats why they didnt make a counter offer .
According to this imecile he feels no reason to CHASE anyone ?
Yet they are the ones being offered the fight .
Yep there you have it , great job team Wilder .
After seeing that joker and his body language he clearly doesnt want the fight next and the Wilder fans applaud these actions . lol
"Wilder will move on with or without Joshua and fight the best possible guys "
Yea but Dumbella who will they be ? :wank:Comment
