I scored it 115-113 for Taylor, Remember Taylor is the champion and Winky has to do enough to win the fight, which he did'nt. It was Taylors eye that was shut which made this a bit close that it could have even been a draw, he could'nt even see anything with one of his eye, Winky did NOTHING in round 12, yes I said NOTHING, both men did'nt do much, but this was similar to ODLH vs Trinidad..the judges saw the aggresor, You guys need to remember Jermain Taylor, the Inexperienced fighter beat Hopkins twice and beat Wright but got a draw, he is STILL GREEN, Taylor would just get better in the years, thats why Winky refused to a rematch.

Winky and Hopkins styles were never meant to make you look halfway decent...Taylor fought his heart out versus 2 of the best defensive and smartest fighters and most experienced UNDISPUTED champions in the world...of this era...in 3 fights

Taylor is the champion and Winky has to take that title, he did'nt do enough to beat the green Taylor.

Now we talk about a rematch, and this is what happens:

Taylor: "I'll fight anyone anywhere anytime and if he wants to fight again lets do it.

Winky: "I dont want no rematch"

He knows Taylor will be better in the rematch, and Manny Steward can just improve him, No one can argue that Taylor was the the busier fighter in this, threw more punches overall, and more aggresive.
you on that good stuff. that "im that champ stuff" come take the belt, mean nothing when he fought Hopkins. lets not go there.

in the 12th round Taylor landed nothing significant as did Wright. It was an even round.

Wright won the fight. I had the score of 115-114.

You cant win rounds by a few power shots here and there. Wright was the more consistent of the two.

Wright won 6-5-1. And with this score, i GAVE the last round to Taylor just to be nice. but truly it was 6-4-2.

Absolutly. Winky is backing up Jermaine Taylor... He is putting him on the run because Wright has a real quick jab that Taylor cannot contend with. The only time Taylor looks more aggressive is when he backs Wright out of the corner with really strong punches to his gloves... After that Wright backs Taylor up again.

I would like any Taylor fan to please tell me ONE time where Taylor backs Wright into a corner because of his great power and whales on Winky because of his aggression.

I dont blame Wright for feeling slighted and not wanting a rematch. But i think he was just pissed at the time. Ask him a week later and he will probaly change his tune.

I had it 7 rounds to 5 for Winky.Winky landed the cleaner and more punches than Taylor who did have the better powershots but a lot of them were hitting Winky's gloves.Judging boxing is based on ring generalship and landing clean punches and i felt Winky easily did that.

Wright won. There isnt one stat that backsup an argument for Taylor. He lost in punch percentage, power shot percentage, punch counts, Wright had the better defense. He backed up Taylor all night.

Jermains' punches were blowing through winky's gloves, I saw it too from my seat at ringside. Lampley was correct, the punches were going through winky's defense, it may have looked different ontv, but Taylor landed some really hard shots all night long.

Nothing too shocking. I have Hawkin's identical card except I gave the 9th to Taylor, but I could just as easily have scored it for Winky.

The only reason it was a draw because judge Ray Hawkins scored the last round for Winky, which he did'nt win, the other 2 judges had Taylor winning, so did HBO, Lennox Lewis was favouring Winky all the time in the fight, but himself admitted Taylor stole the last round.

People were enthralled by nothing. This 12 round bull **** everybody is talking about is crazy. Winky, instead of using his earmuffs and walking Taylor down instead chose to dance and throw out a jab here and there. Winky did not give up the 12th round, and I think it's more controversial to give it to Taylor than to Wright.
