Yeah! I'm reaching on the Smith guy. Hes ok. He did win me some $ against Williams... But nothing special or worth bragging. I didnt even watch that fight.

I guess I'm just being greedy and prefer to watch Sergiey instead of Vanes. That fight wouldn't go the distance IMO.

Well I thought this was another good mailbag.

Canelo has a lot of people in theirs feelings but I just wanted to add some anecdotal information to this discussion about ethnic allegiance.

I remember when the Floyd v. De la Hoya fight was made. I was in high school. I remember being really excited that PBF (who's from Michigan; I'm from Detroit) was getting a shot at the "Golden Boy". For those who don't know, Oscar was huge in hip hop culture, so to many of us young people he was no different than RJJ or Shane (Floyd wasn't that big at that time although the Zab fight was big for his popularity w/ young black kids).

So I went around talking to the old heads in my neighborhood about the fight (mostly at the barbershop). Not one guy over the age of 20 was picking Floyd to beat Oscar. Obviously I was annoyed. So I started making bets that Mayweather would win. I even won a bottle of Moet from this hustling guy that owned the barbershop I went to. If you haven't realized it, all of these conversations were with older black men and none of them thought highly of Floyd (admittedly they were generally casuals). And I lived in a city that was 90% black and wasn't far from where Floyd grew up.

I just add this story so that some here can think about the assumptions they keep making about black boxing fans.

Now I'll admit that things have changed in the post Floyd (50 cent) era. The boxing "channels" have created some crazy "fans" no doubt. But I think a lot of those stronger cultural allegiances is something that's probably more likely in the younger fans.

To be honest I didn't really encounter the racial fanboyism in boxing until I went to college and realized that Manny was like a cultural icon to a lot of people (this one kid had a picture of him in this presentation in class and I remember being confused) and I went on YouTube and started to see the arguments.

Not saying my experience, is everybody's experience but I thought it would be interesting to think about.

And that biitch Breadman only bashes on Canelo cause he's Mexican.
Why don't he be unbiased and bash on black fighters too??

Nobody wants to see Vanes fight GGG over Derevyanchenko.

Hes also 32 years old so he doesnt have time to let anything marinate...

GGG is a flat out ducker on this one. He was cool with bringing up Brook 2 weight classes on short notice.

Man this is a VERY bad look for GGG. He fights Vanes... His fans better never talk sht again.
It’s better that he fights than sits. Let’s not forget that it’s Canelos juicing that caused this mess.

That's what bothers me the most that all these haters go out of their way to bash Canelo cause he's Mexican. I'm a huge Canelo fan but I gotta keep it real and I think he cheated.
Your right that If Canelo was black then he wouldnt get bashed so much. Now all of a sudden EVERYONE KNEW Canelo was on PED's. People saying that just want Canelo to fail and always wanted him to fail. They wanted a black fighter to replace Mayweather as the face of boxing but when that didn't happen then they hated on any other fighter that wasn't black. They still do!
Breadman is black so of course he wants a black fighter to be the face of boxing. And that's cool, I can accept that. But at the same time he's gotta keep it real.
I always thought he was unbiased but he's proving to be the complete opposite. I guess you and me can disagree on that.
Breadman don't care, he's a fair dude IMO.

He is in the sport and don't care about who is the face of boxing, the guy just love the sport and wants to give the best to his fighters. He's not a big mouth.

He always gave credit to GGG and even Nelo.

It's true that Nelo explosiveness was a bit suspect but Nelo has always been like that, quick handed and strong, he just outgrew 154, wich is normal people seem to forget that Nelo is a young dude.

When I was 20 I used to fight in ams at MW, I stopped boxing but now that I'm 32 I swear I would be a cruiserweight, I'm 200 lbs without any fat.

So I disagree with Nelo cheating to be stronger or bigger but MORE THE OPPOSITE.

I just think Nelo took Clembuterol in order to make weight and cut the fat, def not being bigger.

He is smart and very knowledgeable on boxing both past and present and he is fair. He isn't trashing GGG fighting Vanes. I always read what he has to say and usually agree with him.

While i understand your love for your fellow ppl... Why would you think i would need to speak out? Lol ,thats silly.. And bread aint risking that and getting sued lol. I mean why would that matter anyway? Dude cheated in the lead up of the biggest fight of his life after getting handled on roids against same guy. I like pacquiao and think he used roids. Mayweather fine with me but i think he used roids... Mosley one of my faves and i know he used roids. All of em do except donaire who actually does and has benn doing vada 365. So not sure why anyone shocked. Its just goofs man

But on today's mailbag he claims he's not racist and he keeps it real... Yeah right! Fucc that Punk Breadman!
Y'all seem to have forgotten BM"s dislike an at times straight hatred of FMJ and the Mayweathers especially leading up to the PAC fight. Not sure how long you've been reading BM's mailbag ( I started years ago when it was on a previous boxing site), but he's definitely an equal opportunity criticizer. Everybody gets praised and shaded by BM.
