how in the world is a guy whos a weight class below and hasn't fought in 2 years a decent opponent?

I didn't say he was a great opponent. I said he was a decent opponent, as in better than all of the other names we've seen floating around.

IMO He isn't going to fight Derevyanchenko. Derevyanchenko is the mandatory, so why would he come out and say "yeah, I'll fight him on less than a months notice, a month after my last fight" when he can just wait and fight him whenever he wants. he doesn't need to rush it.

they already HAD a boxing show scheduled in for May 5th

they just needed an opponent

like I told you..... since the very second Billy-Joe Saunders stated that he would be available to fight Golovkin in June, there has only been one fight to make

that fight was just sitting there..... they had a window of opportunity AND they had a willing participant..... but unbelievably, Team Bullshht dropped the ball..... AGAIN !!

that is EXACTLY what they could have done with Golovkin if he had selected Saunders in June

give him a 7-10 day break, even 14 days, to avoid over-training..... on FULL diet, light road-work only, purely maintenance..... while they arrange some lefties..... and then slide Golovkin back into the groove with up to a 7 or even 8-week camp should they deem it necessary

they had plenty of time, that is standard stuff..... and they had a willing opponent

Oh, I misunderstood. Thought we were talking about Dere.

Even if his handlers are saying that, I just have a hard time believing that he is going to use his mandatory position when he isn't 100% when he can basically use it whenever he wants. But that's just me. If I'm a mandatory, and I just had a fight a few weeks ago...even if it's a tune up, I'm not doing the title holder a favor just because he needs a dance partner.

So Tom of all people who has virtually been kissing Oscar's azz can't be being diplomatic? I have been very critical of Loeffler for four years now because he's too nice. Yet conveniently you guys never post Dibella's own comments about Golovkin as an opponent for Martinez who is the guy who made Martinez' fights....convenient..no? Loeffler is a guy who has had the luck of managing the biggest name in the HW division and has his current star locked down for one or two more fights, he's a low level low firepower promoter who has been the scourge of 160 for now nearly 7 years because of his diplomacy.
