  • Comments Thread For: Jacobs: GGG Lining Up Scrubs; Derevyanchenko Tough Fight for Him

NEW YORK Daniel Jacobs might be the only boxer in the world with inside knowledge of Gennady Golovkin and Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Jacobs gave Golovkin perhaps the most difficult fight of his career in March 2017 at Madison Square Garden. Derevyanchenko, who's trained and managed by the same men as Jacobs, was one of Jacobs' primary sparring partners for the Golovkin fight.

And who have you fought since you lost to GGG? You can't live off 'going the distance' for the rest of your career, although know that was your proudest achievement

Nah people need to stop that sht, Jacobs stopped 3 (current, former, future) world champions class fighters in a row in Quillin, Mora and Truax before the GGG fight.

Jacobs is the more proven MW after GGG.

Hard to disagree with anything Jacobs except GGG only fighting scrubs.

I mean he fought Jacobs, Nelo in his last 2 fights and was supposed to rematch Nelo next.

At this point I wouldn't blame GGG fighting a tune up bum.

GGG is getting old now with 36 and he knows that there is only one big payday left for him against Canelo. So why does he want to risk that payday by fighting a younger, hungry & unbeaten opponent like Derevyanchenko ? I understand why GGG avoids Derevyanchenko.

Let me guess.... Jacobs "fought to survive" too, right?

People love to forget history, look how long the man at middleweight had to work his way through boxing politics with a promoter who only had experience managing the biggest name in HW...as a mandatory no less. Dibella should cool his heels because he did everything in his power to keep Maravilla away from Golovkin near the end there. Which is also ironic considering Maravilla went through almost the same journey Golovkin has to get that belt. Yet now everyone should get a shot..meanwhile nobody gave a damn when this dude was trying to get his shot

Took Danny a long ass time to negotiate his deal to get in the ring with GGG (ending with 75-25 split after wasting all that time lol) and he is now talking bs about why these guys arent getting in the ring in 3 weeks lol GTFO with your LHW weight bullying SNAC Conte injection in da boody self fighting the Arias's of the world.

It's just business + the time in between fights meaning if you lose it can take you 2/3 years to get another shot.

what I find hilarious is the same ones defending triple quack shat on others fighters for not fighting better oppositions
