why are they wasting their time with this sillyness, when they could either jump on Saunders in June..... or fight Derevyanchenko in May, freeing up September for Canelo/Saunders..... they know that the decision to fight Vanes will cause them a problem in September?

sounds to me like they REALLY want Hopkins defence record..... and will risk losing either the IBF or the WBO if Canelo is free in September..... after which Golovkin will retire

I think everyone is being played by that team of bull**** artists
Doesn't BJS have Murray in June?

He does and he offered to scrap that fight to fight GGG in June.

Spike can go back to his career-long obscurity and continue to be a journeyman for the rest of his life. He gets a chance to be the unified champion, and he's complaining about money like the bum he is.

HBO is a joke anyways. 5 years from now I wouldn't be surprised if they're out of the boxing game entirely. They didn't plan ahead for Floyd's retirement, and now they have the weakest stable of fighters.

So I'm not surprised about this. Fight was originally a PPV, when it was changed to just a regular fight, the purses shrunk.

So why couldn't he fight GGG in mid-May?

Hand injury bro. His fight was originally scheduled for end of this month. Tbh I think it was a fake injury to see if they could get the GGG fight.

Yep. Common sense to most. Spike isn't a big purse fighter so the money must have dropped pretty low.

I like Canelo and Triple G too but now I don't like Triple G that much anymore. It seems like I am not the only one, been noticing alot of people feel the same way. Like Triple G made a scandal over a little bit of some weak drug, not even a drug, like if that's going to beat him. I would've still fought and beat Canelo and then say even with his dirty tests I still beat him. But now it made him look like a coward, especially when he exaggerated it and literally showed that he knew Canelo was definitely going to knock him out.

Can't blame him at all for that decision. They all can't be Willie Monroe Jr and accept $100k
