This mess is on GGG not HBO from day 1 when the canelo fight was in jeopardy the only fighters they were considering were bums and bad fights turning down better opponents who raised their hand willing to fighr. It was trash fights when they were keeping it on PPV which meant HBO was never supposed to pay for it. Then when they realized GGG would get embarrassed with a half empty arena and a PPV flop with the guys they were planning. So they asked HBO to pay for bum fights and get it out of vegas with 3 weeks notice so you get a shyt budget. You move the date or fight better opponent and HBO would of given them more money or you could of still made it ppv.

Folks trying to act like they are making a shyt fight because the budget is low. No its opposite they were looking for shyt opponents and then asked for a budget for a horrible fight. LMAO

It’s business guys. The eye for GGG is still on the prize. A fight w Saul for big bucks. If he doesn’t want to jeapordize that September fight for millions to scrap w a guy like Spike, Andrade, or his IBF mando, sobeit. It makes perfect sense. Especially taking a fight on such short notice.

To say Golovkin is ducking or a cherry picker is just plain ignorant. He has fought Jacobs, and Alvarez. The top guys in his division. He has 3 of the 4 major belts. He has called out all the stars in his class. I’m not the biggest Golovkin fan in the world but facts are facts and common sense is common sense.

He wants to have his cake and eat it too. Stay busy and get something out of this training camp vs a low risk fighter, and also be done w the fight on May 5 to make sure he has enough time to recover, and start training camp for Saul in September. Pushing the fight back to June or July puts that September Saul date in jeapordy, and Golovkin wants to get paid. Can’t blame him. Don’t blame him. I like to get paid as much as possible for my job too.
