Pros- he gets paid and fights on his scheduled day according to how he planned his training camp.
Cons- he fights a stiff for probably 1/20th of what he was gonna make before Canelo screwed up his timing on his cycle and got caught.

We still get to watch a fight, just not a competitive one.

He should compromise between both options. He shouldn't fight on May 5 if a decent opponent can't be find in time, as is surely now the case, but he shouldn't wait on Canelo either. Book another date in Vegas about a month or so later and fight someone good - Saunders can be available, or Andrade or Jacobs or whoever.

Won't Saunders be ready to fight in June? Why not just wait til then to fight? For crying out loud Canelo doesn't even have a title plus he took PEDs, Saunders would be for that last belt.

That makes good sense. Golovkin should move on. If a September rematch is made, the whining or complaining from Able Sanchez and GGG will be unbearable. There are a bunch of guys GGG can fight in June or July. If Canelo is allowed to fight in September, he too can fight any number of top guys. This Golovkin/Canelo saga has run its course.

These guys have no idea what they're doing. If they don't want to waste a training camp why not take out a mandatory? Kill two birds with one stone. Or if Derevyanchenko is really so dangerous that he threatens to derail everything, then why not scrap Saunders' Martin Murray bout to bump up the unification ffs.

Saunders is injured and has a fight in June and has stated he’d be ready for a Sept fight

Jacobs fights in a couple weeks and wouldn’t be ready in June

Andrade - is high risk and brings no fans or $ whether that’s fight happens in May or June it doesn’t matter. Not worth risking a Saunders or Canelo fight for Andrade

Let Andrade fight Devechenko and at least the winner has some buzz behind them and can make a claim for a fight down the road. But when your last opponents are A uninspired performance against Alentez Fox and 8 round fight against Dashon Johnson who was 22w -22l you don’t deserve sh.it

Who cares let it be a scrub and aim for either a big $ fight against Canelo or fight for all the straps against Saunders in Sept

He does have a point that Derevyanchenko really hasn't beaten anyone. Then why is he considered so dangerous? I don't get that.

Stevens destroyed Tureano Johnson, but Stevens wasn't that good.
Derevyanenchenko won against Turaeno, so he's good.
Wade won against Dashon Johnson and Sam Soliman, but Wade was just a bum mandatory.
Derev won against Dashon and Soliman, so he's good.
Stevens and Lemieux demolished Ayala, but they weren't that good.
Derev won against Ayala, so he's good.

Hold on! Who says IF Canelo gets back in September, he gets straight in the ring with GGG after all these months of inactivity? I doubt that, maybe a tune up then GGG that mean till May next year.

GGG has this funny feeling that whoever fights on Cinco de Mayo becomes an automatic superstar. Lol very funny.

Worse thing would be GGG picking Derevyanchenko or Andrade as a late replacement like 10 mins to weigh in with his fans saying "he choose the guy you all said he should fight", that opponent is too late right now. Either satisfy your urge for fighting bums and pick one for May 5th or move the date to June and fight a better opponent.
