Wow 34 fights. It will go down as one of boxing's famous duos.

They achieved a hell of a lot together. Shame they have parted, but both seem to be winding down their careers now.

I'm not very surprised by that. You might not remember, but a few years back, Roach was asked is he was in contact with Cotto. Roach said that Cotto was staying in shape between fights, and Cotto calls him to talk all the time. Roach went out of his way to say Cotto called him on Christmas. He was then asked about Pac, and he was pretty short about it, but he said Pac doesn't really talk to him much, he tried to defend it by saying Pac was busy with politics. Then there was the fact that for his last few fights, Pac started training with Buboy in the Philippines, before he would train with Roach, and maybe you'll remember, Pac told Roach he wanted to use Buboy's fight plan for the Mayweather fight, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case for Pac's more recent fights. Arum and Konks have been tying to convince Pac to leave Roach for years, ever since Roach made that comment about Pac's money. Writing was on the wall, I'm not surprised Pac didn't call Roach, I'm more surprised it took this long for them to split.

Cotto always came off as a prick but he was actually a nice guy. Roach has always spoken highly of Cotto and they seemed to enjoy their time training together.

I don't think Pac needs that much of a training to dispose of someone of Matthyse's caliber. Why should he pay Roach all that money when he can give Buboy a fraction of that? He's no longer elite and doesn't need Roach's help.

Both fighters looked shot in their last fights and, at the top welterweight division, neither counts anymore.

I can understand Roach being upset that Manny didn't tell him personally and before that he was gonna get a new trainer and Freddie's services were no longer needed.
But at the same time if I'm Manny I'm pissed as fucc that Roach went to the press and told the whole world that he still hadnt got paid for the Horn fight.
If I'm Manny I'd be like " WTF! In the fifteen years we've worked together when have I not paid you"??
So I can see from both point of views....

People always regurgitate that lie about Cotto. The people that know him say he's an introvert and he's not out going so he comes off that way. I saw him once in New York, He was taking pictures with fans and he grabbed his wife's hand and wouldn't let go, it reminded me of my kids when I take them to a new place and they're too shy to play with new people, lmao it was the funniest thing to see a grown man acting like that.
