$1 million for "both" fighters? That's a serious paycut from what Golovkin was set to make from the Canelo rematch. Business-wise I can see how fighting Sergiy is a risky move. They obviously view him as a bigger threat than Munguia, Vanes, and O'Sullivan. Fighting a live fighter for under a million when all your belts are at stake is a risky move. But, if Golovkin wants to continue being seen as a monster and truly go down as a great he should go ahead and fight Sergiy or move up and fight Zurdo.

Loeffler is playing risk/reward. He knows that Derevyanchenko is the real deal, and if he makes the fight, it's probably just as tough as the Canelo fight but for 1/50th of the pay. Sucks, because I dearly want to see this fight.
One thing to add though - it really does suck for the fans. However I wont hold it against Golovkin if he fights someone soft. He's coming off two very tough fights against 2 top 5 MWs, back to back. If he takes an easy one, fine.
GGG won't want to lose one of his belts doe, so who knows what will happen if the IBF orders their mando?
They are leaving it damned late. If GGG and Martirosyan sign contracts, the IBF can't then order him to fight someone else.

Martirosyan is an even worse option than O Sullivan. Not that he's bad but he's 154 lbs, inactive.
