This makes no sense at all, GGG just fought the 2 Best guys in the division last year. This guy who nobody knows shouldn’t jump his turn just because Canelo tested positive. Let this fight be built up, he got more exposure being linked to GGG than he has for his fights, Lou should build on that and do some promotion for his fighter to make it a much bigger event

Nobody can even pronounce this guys name. If getting a vacant title is a better move for him than waiting to fight GGG then more power to him but if he wants to make a name for himself and make some $ he should wait it out. He won't have to fight anyone worth a damn anyway while he sits there waiting for his title shot.

      Andrade don't want the fight
      Charlo is already a mando
Jacobs about to be a mando
Nobody else worth a damn besides Lemueix that will even give him a challenge probably.
It's clear that Derevyanchenko is basically saying F waiting it out, I'll make my own money and build my own name. Golovkin sat around, taking step aside deal, after step aside deal, and all that's gotten him is a slate of opponents on his ledger so **** that HBO went from being ready to roll out the heavy PPV push for the Canelo rematch to now not even having $1m set aside for "Big Drama Show". lol.

Derevyanchenko is already 32 years old, and Golovkin's camp would be looking to delay his due fight twice (to make way for the wanted Vanes bull**** in May, and again for the Alvarez fight in September). By then Derevyanchenko would already be 33 years old, with the likelihood that the thirst for a third Alvarez fight could put things off another 6 months.

Rather than stall out his own career another 16 months waiting on Golovkin, push to have Golovkin fight or be stripped now, fight for the vacant IBF belt (Jacobs has eyes on the WBA, Charlo has eyes on the WBC, and Andrade is already rated #1 by the WBO; if Andrade sticks with the WBO, Tommy Langford becomes the opponent), and then defend his title as often as he is fit to on as many of the NYC/Northeast shows that DiBella can get him on.

If he's left having to fight cans, at least he does so with a world championship around his waist. Not like things would've been better were he simply to wait for Golovkin, lol.

he just had a full camp

Derev is an unproven mid-level contender

can Golovkin beat those guys or what ?

Still have to prep for fighters styles, kinda funny how fans think the fight game is that simple "Oh He Had A Camp Already" sure he is physically in great shape I'm sure but he was mostly preparing for CANELO not some other fighters

Kinda explains why a lot of fans have this lack of respect for fighters at what they do because fans don't take the none physical prep into consideration. You spend most of camp likely working on cutting the ring off and trying to figure angels you can attack from when you have Canelo on the ropes next time then now Canelo is no longer your opponent. Him and his team would be complete IDIOTS if they don't study their next opponent and have the mentality of "Oh He Is Just A Mid-Level Contender"

You wanna know who your fighting, you wanna know his tendencies, you want sparring Partners similar size and can somewhat mimic your opponent style that you getting ready to fight that is what a training camp is for

Derevyanchenko is an unproven mid-level contender, and Golovkin just had a full camp preparing for Canelo

I think that is a ridiculous excuse under the circumstances

and the circumstances are that if Golovkin does not fight Derevyanchenko now, he will not be able to fight Canelo or Saunders in September

plenty of fighters have taken stiffer assignments on short notice, and they still have 3 weeks to prepare

sorry, but that is a weak excuse from a supposed top fighter

It is not really an excuse, it is likely the real reason why he WON'T be fighting any of the 160 Contenders next month!

                    ibf won't strip golovkin.
