How was Canelo-GGG a bigger draw?
From my viewpoint its a Mexican and a Kazakh. That's a fight made for boxing hardcores if there's any. Canelo doesn't have wide mainstream appeal in the USA except among his own people, which fortunately for him there's a lot of his people willing to pay for his fights.
I don't think its outlandish to believe Joshua-Wilder could outdo 1.3 million PPV buys in the USA once they turn full promoter. It's two guys from the Anglosphere that both speak English and aren't afraid to speak their minds. Not to mention heavyweights.
GGG is really only known among hardcores.Comment

What are you doing your math on an Abacus? To make 100 million dollars in revenue it need to sell at least 2 million in PPV sales in the USA plus a 1 million in UK PPVs. I highly doubt that will happen. At most this fight makes barley 50 million in revenue. That being said Wilder should take that 12.5 million pay day offered by Hearn.

2Mx$60 = $120M
1Mx£19.95 = £19.9MLast edited by McNulty; 04-11-2018, 04:31 PM.Comment
