Since 2016, Saunders has wins over Akakov, Willie Monroe JR and Lemieux. Not what you'd call an impressive resume.
Saunders is a good defensive fighter with no power and questionable stamina.
He's has been holding the title hostage and hoping for a big payday since he barely got past Andy Lee.
A fight with Golovkin would look like GGG vs Canelo without the exchanges.

        Cancel it. Reschedule for Saunders.

Actually, that is fair. Bad look, bad recovery.

Worse part is that it is Golovkin and his name getting drug through the mud. I sincerely hope he doesn't wait until a September rematch. A Summer bout is needed for Golovkin who has always been active.

          This whole situation blows.

Derevyanchenko is considered a tougher opponent for Golovkin than O’Sullivan. The 2008 Olympian also is a high-risk, low-reward proposition for Golovkin at a time when an eight-figure purse for a rematch against Alvarez hangs in the balance.

BINGO!!!!! He doesn't wanna risk losing out on the money for Canelo but his dumb @$$ started whining and got the fight cancelled! Now he doesn't wanna fight Sergiy come on GGG make up your d@m mind fight the man he's mandatory!! You didn't wanna fight Canelo because he tested positive back in February that's cool but don't agree to fight Spike O'Sullivan but then back track when a tougher opponent comes along. He should have taken the Canelo fight got the money and moved on to BJS. GGG ain't getting any younger he better hope Canelo isn't suspended longer than a year otherwise GGG would be on the downside of his career come May 2019!!!

Hahahha Grovelkin is a complete idiot. All high and mighty when he knows all Canelo did was eat some tacos in mexico. Poor impulse control for Canelo but oh well. Canelo can cut out the tacos and still be the face of boxing. Now this idiot Grovelkin is gonna be out millions for not overpaying soft touch no hoper O Sullivan. Won't even fight Dere*****o whatever the hell his name is. Both fights suck but the fact he is hard balling both just shows how incompetent Lowfler is. Talk about completely being an idiot. Canelo should tell Grovelkin to piss off and fight someone like Charlo in Septemer. Or he can get Spence or Thurman to move up to welterweight. He doesn't even need to fight this Kazak jackass. Mexican style my ass. Danny Jacobs kicked your ass and Canelo schooled you.

Point out in my post where I defended... I'll wait. You're defending a guy who won't fight a live body and has now lost TWO worthless opponents, so he's not gonna pick anyone else.

g doesn't care about the payday. He cares about not taking any unnecessary chances. He fought Jacobs when he was mandatory. Then Charlo and Andrade also moved up, and BSJ gave a free boxing lesson to Lemieux, and so g took the biggest payday. Which had actually been on the table for a while. When he could get away with fighting Wade and a welterweight, he was fine not facing Canelo. Now, with Charlo, Andrade, Jacobs, all chopping at the bits, g is back to wanting Spike and the likes. Even this bum Derevnychenko or whoever is apparently too big of a threat.

He has proven all his haters correct by crying to get out of Canelo, trying for Spike, and now trying to get out of a rather weak mandatory, but anyone better than Spike is too much. G could get $10 million for Canelo rematch, but he might lose. The guy is terrible for boxing.
