I've learned that trying to talk Boxing with casuals that use names like "Gaylovekin" isn't worth the time especially when that cretin says "there's absolutely no reason to blame Canelo" for failing a drug test and not pulling out until a few days ago.

    Peace and blocked.

At the very least contingency plans should have been in place - certainly since Canelo's failed tests were announced.

I know it's unlikely to happen given the $s involved, but at this juncture I think it's time for Golovkin to stop wasting time chasing Canelo and focus on getting on with the twilight years of his career. Derevyanchenko, Saunders, Charlo, Murata - dude wil be 38 by the time that's done and in the unlikely event of his running that gauntlet unbeaten maybe he can think about the Canelo rematch then.
I do not think anyone really believed that the Canelo fight wouldn't go forward. Yes nitpicking we always should have a backup plan. Frankly though I'm not sure anyone has backup plans for mega events.

Yes it is unlikely that Canelo will be abandoned. Too much money. As I've stated IMO, big money fights are actually harming boxing for the fans. Too much waiting around is created. I think most likely Golovkin will be waiting around for Canelo. He won't face any big fights until then. After that, well then likely Saunders. I don't believe it is it because Golovkin fears anyone, simply it is the biz of boxing which sucks for fans.

I do think people are also glossing over the fact that Golovkin was in training for a full month. He goes on two month training cycles. Extending to three months may be a concern (for a fight in June). I think keeping this fight was also to keep Golovkin on schedule for a September fight. Fight in May, rest Jun-July and get prepared for a September/October fight.

I do not know how it will turn out, will see how it plays out. Pretty crappy situation.

The funny thing is the Golovkin haters are talking trash, insisting he fight someone on May 5th. They would still talk trash, no matter whom he picked. All of the prospects are either former WWs, JMWs or bums. GGG has trained and was physically and mentally prepared to face Canelo. Since Alvarez ruined that opportunity, it's silly to expect Golovkin's team to just throw something together on such short notice & criticize them for not doing so.

            WTF ???

how come Golovkin is not moving heaven and earth in search for his "dream"?

this is the THIRD time Golovkin passed on Saunders, no matter how much the fanboys want to spin it
            100% AGREED.

Last year, Saunders and Warren Signed the contract to fight GGG in Kazakhstan but GGG pulled out of their planned June bout.

Once Canelo pulled out, Warren gave GGG and his team the chance of fighting Saunders in June but GGG turned it down because they were too focused on fighting on May 5th as though GGG would suddenly OWN that date.

Reality has hit home to the Fake ass Mexican Wannabe GGG that he's NO VEGAS PPV FIGHTER on his own!

Been saying that since day 1 of this Canelo thing starting to look serious cuz no serious is gonna be a go with the timetable (which is no even less reasonable & no one is in yet from the sounds of it) + no one who's down with timetable is gonna be THAT serious.

I knew youd have som meth-head response. Ignorance is talking down on the fighter who did NOTHING wrong. Di.ckeating is defending the disgraceful boxer who claims he willfully ingested tainted meat.
