The fact is, a "take it or leave it" offer of $12.5 million isn't what it looks like. It's a hard-line opening offer by Matchroom. What they're really saying is, "Come back to us with a sensible counter, but don't take the piss". Deontay Wilder just is not deserving of a 60/40 split. Talking percentages only benefits one side here. If Wilder could make $20 million from this fight they should take it. I think what his people should be doing is ensuring he gets a much bigger slice providing he wins. Make sure it's in the contract, if Wilder wins the first fight, he gets X in the rematch. In the rematch the tables might be turned and it could be AJ getting the flat fee.

What I actually think would be fair is a 70/30 split in AJ's favor for all European revenue, and the reverse in Wilder's favor for all American revenue. I don't see how anyone can argue that, especially when Parker was offered more than 30%.

This biggest pay day bs is what stans and casuals focus on. It's silly because that's not how deals this big are negotiated. It will be both fighters biggest pay day regardless of the split.

Lastly...Two Wilder Joshua fights make a boatload of money. To get to the 2nd, there must be a first.
Calling people "stans", whatever that means, and casuals just because they don't see it from your point of view. Funny, considering I've been a member here, and a hardcore boxing enthusiast since before you probably even registered an interest in the sport.

I believe stan means (St)upid f(an). I think It's more that your point of view is getting lumped in with some of the ******est posts since the whole AJ vs Wilder make everything about AJ's popularity rather than about the best vs the best.

Right, I have changed my mind. Deontay Wilder should be given AT LEAST the same split as Joseph Parker. How much did Parker's split equate to in $? More or less than $20 million? If Parker got 30% then 30-35% would be about right for Wilder.

I believe Parker ended up with a little over 30% which was estimated to be, after all was said and done, around 13 million pounds. and AJ got just under 70 obviously, which was estimated to end up around 20 million pounds.

The logic doesn't really hold though when I've been called an AJ hater many times previously, does it? My pick for the fight is Wilder by devastating KO and has been for a long time.

I think anything over $20m is great for Wilder, I doubt AJ makes $40m from that fight. So in reality Wilder would be making minimum 4 times what he usually makes whilst AJ would be making close to double what he usually makes. If I was AJ I wouldn’t be happy with that deal, especially with the fact that am bringing 3 belts to the table to his 1 belt, am bringing PPV to the table to his none etc

Lol, I didn't know that. To be honest, I've been staying away from these Wilder vs. AJ forums. It's been I have to say, worst than Mayweather vs. Pac. I've tried to come in and see if anyone is discussing how the fight would play out, advantages, and such. But all you get is one side defending Wilder, and the other defending AJ's wallet. Very weird.
