    Well they obviously must know Canelo will be available again in September. Why would they pass up on $20 million to fight BJS for probably a quarter of that. I don't care what you're chasing, you don't just pass up that kind of money. He's 36 now, he can't afford to give that kind of payday away

      Yup! And he really hammered on that point when Ward's name was brought up back then. Against Froch or Chavez, if was fine going up then back down but once it's Ward, it made no sense cuz he wants to collect all the belts.

      Smh.

          You still don't get it after all these years.

          Chavez Jr = huge payday, little risk
          Froch= huge payday, moderate risk
          Ward = moderate payday, extreme risk

          What would you do?

            I do get it.

            I would fight Chavez and Froch then tell Ward flat out to build up his stock if he wants to get in the ring with me but I won't hide behind my love for belts.

            The belt excuse is one he is still using till today. In January when it seemed like Canelo was going after Saunders Lemieux winner, GGG suddenly wanted the WBO belt again, telling the press non stop but the moment Canelo backed off, he was chilled with not having the belt. C'mon, WTF!

              Because he wants to get payed, you get punched in the face for a career and lets see if you wouldn't cash out if you have the chance.

                  Because Saunders is injured and can't fight in May and Canelo or Canelo's team will still have one eye on a potential Canelo fight in September if he can fight, that's the money fight, so they won't want him out any later than May.
