The two of them together are worth FAR more than they are apart. Hearn makes much, much more having AJ fight Wilder than he does Parker, Takam, etc.

To hold Wilder to previous salaries is NOT how it works in a business like this. You guys want to compare it to your day jobs because that's all you know. Wilder isn't showing paystubs from previous fights. This is all about the money THIS fight will generate so try to integrate that into your narrow field of vision.

If the fight is going to us PPV I think it would be smarter and fairer to have wilder on a percentage. That way he'll bust a gut to sell it and hopefully drive up the revenue for everyone. Wilder isn't the commercial force AJ is, but he deserves some respect nonetheless. The flat fee aspect seems excessively hardball to me.

Yeah this the main reason I think its nonsense. Wilder could just sit on his ass and collect his cheque when it flops. No way they make an offer without incentives, espescially with how much promotion it needs stateside

it's a lot of money but if he's only offered a flat offer and no percentage that's a bully move, give him the option of a % predicted to be worse or the flat fee. Al Haymon will have Wilder's back though so I don't think he'll let him get played.
