Lara has turned into another Marquez - can't admit when he loses a fight. He lost to Canelo by running like a *****. This time he tried to exchange and go his ****ing head topspinned.

Hurd vs Jermell is next. I hope the boxing world moves on from Lara's snooze fest.

Lara hit him with a couple of straight left and uppercuts to the chest in the very first round that could have made any other fighter hesitant about going in face first, but Hurd's got a really good chin, never seem hurt, that uppercut on the sixth could have taken down or stopped anybody, but not Hurd, kudos to him and I hope he keeps proving all the doubters wrong, he got me convinced.

I agree Hurd is going to have a short run as champion if he doesn't fix that defense of his. His body is taking too much wear and tear.

Agreed! And he's so young. I remember I felt invincible at Hurds age but he can't be so naive as to think he can go on like this forever

Not to speak for Illmatic, but I think he means that Hurd has shown boxing ability in fights prior to Harrison, Trout and Lara. He fought a pressure stalker style in these last 3 fights. I remember watching his fight against Harrison and wondering why he wasn't boxing like he had in previous fights.

I love hearing fighters talk like this. It doesn’t make you less of a man to speak highly of your opponent. To the contrary. The irony is, Lara tends to do the opposite. Props to Hurd.

                  Exactly.

                  Respect for both fighters.

It was a great boxing match.

Props to Hurd without question. Unfortunately Lara has been subject of x2 questionable decisions with Williams and Alvarez. I can see why he wasn’t as cheery as Hurd on his first close fight. So really no irony imo. Simply a set of different circumstances. Again, much credit to Hurd, I look forward to his future fights.

I give Lara a lot of credit for that last fight. He fought like a warrior. Can’t ever take fault with that. I’m wondering what’s next for him.
