From what i remember, he had a choice between Margo and Baldomir and he chose the latter for supposedly 8 million..

He could have faced Margarito but Arum wanted options on his next few fights so he wasnt gonna go that route.

My thoughts are he would have a good chance to win. Mayweather was the best welterweight in the world five years ago but he owned two 154 pound titles that he never defended. The Mayweather of five years ago may have had a hard time beating Lara. Maidana gave Mayweather a hard fight. Hurd is bigger and better than Maidana and hits harder.
