the MW division was arguably way weaker during Hopkin's reign. go look at the names under all his defenses. but B Hop never got **** for it because social media wasn't prevalent, he was winning decisions not knockouts and he never bragged about knocking out light heavyweights in sparring.

Bhop just like Floyd and Andre ward are boxers who care about the end goal not just knockouts. Bhop would tell u to your face he's in there to win and to provide for his family. His style may not suit u , but he's an HOF and those names could probably give GGG an run for his money. So just stop it.

It doesn't matter who Golovkin fights on May 5th. Its comical. Guy has the highest KO percentage in MW history, has never been knocked down in 388 fights, and pretty much obliterates most of his opponents (I know they were all bums). Even with all the banter, I guarantee if Andrade or Derenchay.... gets in there with Golovkin and he lays either one of them out, there will be some on here that will say that he should have fought someone else.

I assume he's already deep enough in camp that he wants to book a routine fight then reschedule with Canelo, by far his biggest rival & payday.

People don't actually expect him to randomly announce his substitute is (insert fantasy) at the last minute. It's possible that a big deal is made and they choose a new date for it, but it's not expected. They're just pretending to expect it.

Let's be totally honest; any other two fighters and the guy who tested positive then bailed would be taking 100% of the flack and the guy keeping his date at a downsized venue would be getting pats on the back for rolling with it. There wouldn't be shared blame. Golovkin wasn't even the one to pull out.

But this is Mexico's most heavily promoted fighter (also backed by flo mos since they consider anyone Canelo beats to count as a Floyd win) vs a polarizing outcast from Kazakhstan, so we see a unique response.

He intentionally contaminated Canelo's beef just so he could fight a bum for a small fraction of the pay! Nah. He's getting a consolation check for camp then rescheduling the Canelo fight.

1) Golovkin has been criticized for YEARS for his ****ty opponent selection..... this is just the latest chapter

2) Golovkin has done nothing to rectify that situation..... to the contrary, he appears to use every excuse imaginable to justify selecting scrubs

FACT: he could simply select a better opponent, and reschedule the fight..... like has happened on NUMEROUS occasions

this is your problem.....

1) Team Golovkin, are obviously not about that life
2) smart observers can see exactly whats up, and they are under no obligation whatsoever to keep quiet about it
3) Team Golovkin know exactly whats up, they have heard all of the critics..... so, if they have not switched it up at this point in Gennady's career, they never will

I just expected better from him

what made that selection bearable, was knowing that Brand was an exception to the rule..... and knowing that Ward would definitely fight the best
