Point to a better fight.

Lara was Lara; good jab, sharp on the counter, good use of range, etc. Styles make fights, though. Just like most other good Lara fights, Hurd accepted taking the damage to get to his own range, was effective in cutting off the ring and keeping pressure, and thrived when the fight got on the inside.

I thought the Wilder Ortiz fight was far more interesting. Not FOTY either, but it had more tension and ebb and flow, and it all culminated in a dramatic finish. To each his own I guess.

Wilder-Ortiz is arguably the front runner at this point, for sheer excitement tbh, but let's not act like Lara-Hurd isn't on the list.

The edge that Lara-Hurd may have, in my opinion, is that the story that played out in their fight was more dynamic than Wilder-Ortiz for the whole fight; Lara had a plan, Hurd had a plan, and you watched how the plans worked against each other, with the penultimate moment coming with a minute to go in the fight.
