I also agree there is a vast difference in the excitement level watching it live vs knowing the outcome. The fight played out exactly like I predicted (I've watched Hurd for years now so know what he is all about). Still...I was on the edge of my seat from bell to bell and would not have complained if it were a majority draw or even a win for Lara. This is justification for current FOTY. The entire TV card was entertaining, and not a single KO. Go figure.

i never understood why people bashed this fight the styles were perfect for eachother it was obvious if lara wanted to win he was gonna have to bite down and fight in the pocket. Hurd impressed me tho i doubt the fight got many viewers which is a shame. hurd vs charlo should be a dam good fight. I also wouldnt be surprised if Hurd moves up in the near future I could be wrong but he seems pretty dam big for 154

The reason I would call it fight of the year is because of the last minute KD. I thought Hurd was winning the fight but listening to the the Showtime commentary and seeing the Farhood scorecard I thought the fix was in. After the KD I was jumping up and down because I figured it would seal the victory. That's FOTY material.

Funny you should mention Rigo. He and Lara are friends. Guillermo hasn’t been heard from since the Lomo fight. (I actually feel bad for him.) I wonder how much impact the fallout had on Landy’s approach to his own recent fight. Lara might’ve taken note.
