So far I agree it was fight of the year..

2 Major Belts on the line. Lara is a GREAT but at times boring fighter against an undefeated giant who WON the fight with 15 seconds of the last round!!!! That's clutch! Sounds almost like a movie.

Ortiz and Wilder had some drama but also was VERY boring until like the 6th round??? It was a chick fight with slapping in those early rounds so *** that! Plus Ortiz didn't have a major belt.

Seems like people love any fight that has high volume. There was lots of action but the there wasn't really much drama.

And I cant give that POS fat cheating bastard Quigg FOTY. It was brutal and bloody but so was Truix and DeGale. He couldn't even win the belt because he cheated.

Gassiev-Dorticos is probably the closest and Dorticos would of won it if he knocked down Gassiez instead of getting KTFO himself!!!

So I'm gonna stick with Hurd coming back and winning it

Either one I'm cool with soo fat. But it's only April...

??? It was won with 15 seconds left??? What fight do you think deserved it better then it?? You make a statement like that but then dont even give up what fight you think was better??? Huh??? I hate when ppl post dumb sht!

If anyone thinks there was a BETTER fight then say which one. That way it can he at least debated. ****** sht like generic comments waste everyone's time.

Sorry man, I don't know what to tell you. I may have been more excited catching it live, but on the replay I didn't enjoy it all that much. There's some fights that have a good amount of action but don't really have many changes in momentum (outside of the gradual momentum change towards Hurd as Lara seemed to tire) and this was one of them for me. I felt similar with Santa Cruz vs Mares.

It was way more consistently entertaining than the Wilder Ortiz fight, but I loved the Drama of Wilder nearly being stopped then coming back to win. I'll give it to you that that last minute knockdown was exciting and an awesome way to close the fight, but otherwise it just wasn't that sensational of a fight to me.

My bad! Didn't mean come off like that. Wilder/Ortiz had more drama but 3/4 of that fight was beyond terrible. So that's why I gave it to Hurd/Lara.

I'm with you on those last few rounds being can't miss entertainment. I remember drinking and having take a piss really bad but couldn't because I didnt want to miss a thing...

Perhaps because it's fresh, it jumps out as FOTY thus far for me. Especially when you consider what was on the line. Irregardless, respect to both men. Anytime it's blatantly obvious both fighters left everything had in the ring it's hard to complain.

Honestly I might have been as hyped as you if I caught it live but I was working!

These kinds of fights where there's a slow momentum change are really great when i'm invested. Like with Badou Jack vs Degale last year or whenever that was. I bet on Jack and he was down in the first round and losing the early rounds. It was crazy to see him turn it around in the 2nd half then drop Degale in the last round!

                    Yup!

Lara went out like a true warrior while his countryman Rig. Went out like a COWARD.
