Is Joshua a big, stiff idiot?

I've never seen Parker move so much and act so defensively. He fought very defensively, hoping that Joshua would make a mistake or run out of gas. It was a good way to avoid being KO'd but it wasn't enough for him to win the fight. Parker would be a problem for any heavyweight if he fought like he did tonight.Comment

I think he's too technical for his own good. That is where Wilder's madness, unorthodox style can give him hell. He won't expect the punches from them weird angles that Wilder throws them. Wilder is also the kind who can look passive one second and throw a KO bomb the next.
Just look at the knockdown of Ortiz in the 5th. It was a crazy quick straight right bomb out of no where. He had no look as if he was going to throw something like that and he did and down went Ortiz with the follow up.Comment

Joshua just looked so normal body wise and not so unbelievably Steroid up, that he even didn't have serious confidence in his supposed super punching power and was so gun shy and afraid to get hit, unlike he was against Klitchko and looked so much bigger and extremely confident and then he fights this smaller man and acts like this guy hits like Mike Tyson and doesn't even engage and tries to out jab him, it's crazy how things just changed with him.
This fight just got even harder to pick and more confusing to call, Wilder looks limited, because of his massive sloppy punches and fighting a skilled fighter and shows heart and patience and pulls it out, with his crazy punching power, but has me thinking well Joshua should knock him out rather easily.
Then Joshua fights this guy who isn't very good looks totally smaller and unsure of his power and tries to out box him and looks gun shy, when he didn't against Klitchko and can't hurt him and makes Wilder look even more dangerous.
Can the real Anthony Joshua and Wilder please stand up, because i bet either guy fights each other like we think and for some reason if Joshua has to take that test he's getting knocked out and Wilder isn't that good himself but the punching power he has is the equalizer to their fight.
I still have to wait and contemplate, my pick for this fight.Comment

Yes he is. He lacks that killer instinct and mean streak of a Deontay Wilder. He was afraid of engaging a man who wasn't throwing any punches back.
Wilder is both mentally tougher, stronger and meaner than Anthony Joshua. For example: "The Bronze Bomber" would have taken on more chances and risks in order to secure that knockout victory over Joseph Parker, unlike Anthony Joshua.Comment

I think Wilder sparks him. I think Wilder's length and reach will allow him to find the target. Parker just couldn't get into range to do his work. Wilder won't need to. Joshua is stiff and upright and he'll be a sitting duck for Wilder's right hand.
I honestly don't think there was much between Parker and Joshua in skill level. Both are basic but Joshua had the size advantage and a ref that wouldn't let them fight at any distance that didn't suit AJ. Joshua was the clear winner but is far from an elite fighter.Last edited by TheBigLug; 03-31-2018, 08:34 PM.Comment
