I think Chico was out or on his way to being put out, but he was a tough SOB so that's why people including myself still praised him for getting that dramatic win.

But all is fair in love and war, I don't blame Chico as much as I blame Weeks. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Maybe if Castillo landed a low blow, Weeks would have given him the win instead. Hahaha, poor Kovalev, uh I mean Castillo.

It's a shame Castillo couldn't make weight anymore. But that first fight took so much out of them, I don't think they had enough left in them for a trilogy anyways.

Yeah, definitely Weeks' "Richard Steele" moment.

Not sure why people say it was a premature stoppage, Castillo was definitely out, the eyes rolling to the back of his head with his mouth wide open made that clear lol.

Castillo did get the win in the rematch, even if he didn't make weight. So they're 1-1, both with their own bit of controversy.

A third fight between them would have probably killed them both, imagine the double knockdown in Rocky II, but both of them ending up like Apollo in Rocky IV.

I still find the mouth spitting out deal very ridiculous. A ref handled him doing that perfectly in another fight he had but form the moment he was hurt until they resumed fighting, an eternity had gone by.

He had one big round but all the other rounds Gatti easily outworked, controlled and dictated the pace. Ward was constantly loading up one big shot to liver at a time and he finally delivered in the ninth round. Other than that he didn't do jack **** throughout much of the fight. Arturo carried him.

No, I definitely disagree, man. Ward hurt Gatti in the ninth but on many other occasions, too. It was back and forth and you can certainly make a case for Gatti winning, but well, he didn't. He took the second and especially third fights though, without question.

Castillo / Corrales for sure. I was in disbelief the whole way through. Watching that live was something special. I understand how older folks feel when they discuss wars in the past. I get it. Nothing beats seeing it live.

Gatti / Ward was expected to be a war.

Corrales didn't have to engage how he did. I remember the build up Castillo was baiting him to stand and trade and Corrales said he would. Nobody believed that. He put himself at a lopsided disadvantage exchanging inside, that was Castillo's specialty.

A modern comparison is the Lara / Hurd fight. Who tf thought Lara would be in the trenches throwing bombs? that fight was also special because you didn't expect it.
