I'm American, but I like Loma, Usyk and many other on-American fighters. I'm really for rooting for the individuals I like in boxing. In team sports, I can see where people root for nations and regions and the like, but even then, I'll still root for who I want, no matter where they came from. It's about what they bring to it.

I don't see any reason why GGG shouldn't be compared to Hagler though, given what he's achieved so far at MW.

Yeah, Hagler was undisputed and lineal champion, but he didn't have the multiple titles and political bull**** that GGG has had to contend with during his era.

And Hagler was able to build his career by working his way up the ladder in his own country. He didn't have to base himself in a foreign country, then move again to yet another country in his 30s to get the chances his talent deserved, the way Golovkin did.

I'm a big fan of Hagler, so that's no disrespect to him. I just happen to rate GGG very highly too.
Hagler has to deal with the politics of the day just like ggg. He got a BS draw in his first title shot as well. He had to earn his status by defeating top opponents and ATG’s.

To see ggg compared to him after beating Murray is insulting and is going to cause people to get pissed off.

Rate him as high as you wish, just make him earn it before you compare him to Hagler. Don’t just give it to him because he’s not American.

Lol...no country has "caught up" with us...we have the best and most Boxing talent...it has been that way since before you were born and will be that way long after you're dead...

All you and some other scrubs here are doing is trying to perpetuate a lie...and it's not working...you insignificant, anti-American peons.

Our Boxing at its WORST is light years better than your country's BEST...

Stop trying and just submit to our Dominance....it's a cliche expression, but so apropos...when it comes to this sport, we ****ing OWN you.

The most knowledgable and unbiased American boxing expert I know of - Breadman Edwards - rates GGG as highly as I do, and has said several times that a prime GGG might well have been up there with Hagler, Monzon, BHop, etc, but was denied the opportunity to prove it because of avoidance and politics.

He said might. You guys are definitive and said this years ago. when he has the resume hagler does then maybe that is fair. Since he doesn’t it’s truly frustrating.

Same with Loma. Skilled yes. Proven at a championship level like Floyd, no.

So if you just keep it fair, no issues.
