Wilder Deserves Respect

How amazing, 40 fights before taking on a threat. Jesus you guys have low expectations of fighters these days

I'd say he's getting exactly the respect he has earned. He is 40 fights into his career and hasn't fought a future HOF'er, or even someone who would have been considered a legit threat in the division a decade prior. And his boxing skills leave a lot to be desired.

So why don't you say the same about lil g?

His new found fans are annoying and fall under a tedious set of boxing fans that adopt a guy because they hate another fighter. That wouldn't normally be enough reason for me to dislike the man but he has also assaulted a woman, a fellow boxer in front of his terrified wife and children and I generally just don't root for or get behind a guy that's loud and obnoxious (though I understand marketing but it's my right to not be a fan) and has corny catch phrases like "Bomb Squad".

I also don't particularly enjoy watching a fighter with his style and technique though I respect his power. He was also protected for a very long time and took his first semi-risk very deep into his career after a lot of useless fights despite many other fighters wanting a fight with him. So throw that all together and I can see why someone wouldn't like him.

Yet he ducked Povetkin for the same reason without thinking twice

why he gave Ortiz a second chance but won't give Sasha?

Because Ortiz is old as dirt and looked in decline in his last couple fight

so Bumsquad thought, "hurr, old dude is slipping fast, I might be able to beat him after all. Time to gain some cred by beating someone who isn't a complete bum and looks good on paper hehe "

Windmiller has been a fraud most of his career and still has a lot to prove

and the only thing Wilder proved in the Ortiz fight, was that he has better stamina than the old man

Ortiz was outboxing him and was going to stop him before he gassed

D.Wilder was beating Ortiz in a close fight & Ortiz would beat Povetkin.

Who said he was more skilled? Why you always assume?? D.Wilder has the eraser & in the heavyweight division that's all you need. Hearn is doing a bob arum like he did with manny by stalling but he forgot that manny got K.O.'d by Marquez....hearn shouldn't stall or it might be too late.

What I don't like about Wilder is his constant bragging on himself to excess and his disrespect for all other heavyweights past and present. He has declared himself the greatest heavyweight in history and says he would have destroy the great heavyweights of the past like Tyson and Ali. I have seen him fight many times and I don't think he could beat the better heavyweights of the past. I give him credit for fighting and beating a top 5 world rated heavyweight in Ortiz. But he has been WBC champion a long time. He should have been defending his title against much better fighters than the ones he fought for his title. I don't hate him and he is a decent heavyweight with a hell of straight right. He is fun to watch with his crazy windmill attack. I am just not a big Wilder fan. I think heavyweight is fairly a weak weight class now. He could be the best heavyweight of today but I think he will be defeated soon if he fights the best heavyweights in the world.

Please tell me outside of the Klitschko brothers, what other heavyweight has been a HOF of future HOF in the last decade? Who else was a threat? He fought Stiverne who was a credible threat. He was willing to fight Povetkin but dude was in Peds. I’m no wilder fan but who else was he suppose to fight? The HW division is heating up and he’s see an opponent that’s on his level now he wants to fight him.

It looks to me that people don't like Wilder because of 1) his fans or 2) he is a threat to their favorite fighter. If you don't fall under reason 1 or 2 then why would you not like the guy? what's your reason?

I've never heard people not liking Wilder cuz of his fans. Or is that some sorta code word for "black people"?

I'm a fan of him & Joshua & I think disliking fighters is some weirdo sh^t, BUT some fans enjoy sports off their hate of specific teams & people & fair play to them....although they are still weirdos.

I'm sure there are a million other reasons to dislike the guy doe.

-I even find that BOMB ZQUAD thing annoying as f#ck & I could understand if people dislike him for that.

-The aligator skin Lambo is kinda some ass hole sh^t to I think one could argue.

-His wild style that some might find disrespectful of the sweet science could be another reason.

-The fact he got gifted 33 or 34 wins or w/e before he had a real fight might be another.

I definitely don't think its narrowed down to those two reasons.
