Question for AJ stans, since you agree with Hearn that Wilder doesn't want to fight AJ because he's not going to be ring side - using that logic, we have to conclude that AJ doesn't want to fight Wilder because he wasn't ring side at Barclays, correct? Hearn meets with Wilder's people, doesn't discuss AJ, he only brings up Whyte. Every time Hearn is asked about AJ facing Wilder, he pivots to every and any other opponent for AJ, then works in Whyte fighting Wilder. Hearn wants Wilder to be ring side Saturday, so Wilder and Whyte can face off. Yet it's Wilder that some how doesn't want to fight AJ. Unreal, most delusional fans since the Pacman wave.

Again - telling lies. There was no PED thing while Ortiz was with Matchroom. How do you even conceive the things you just wrote? No matter what you say, AJ has juiced in his professional career. He still might but using Ortiz as a cover or fall guy - you guys have really gotten so low.Comment

Does the guy not have access to the internet ? There are even videos of AJ doing Deontay impressions on youtube. DW lives in his own warped version of reality. Go over get some cash, talk to Hearn and make the fight.
The reason he won't go over is probably his management don't want him alone with Hearn in case he signs him. Think about it his promotion sucks.
Narcissism is a he!!uva drug.

I don't agree with either side on this , joshua should have used wilder there for a promo even if the fight is 2 fights down the road , they could have easily talked to deontay behind closed doors and said this is my event let me take in my win then we will give you the respect of saying your peice , but let's keep this civil . I also think wilder should have gone either way , hell if he shows up now that would be cool too( after saying he won't ). I 110% think this fight should happen next , and I am a joshua supporter . If we have to wait for these interim fights I won't be happy , but I also won't be furiously mad as I see both wilder and joshua winning them handily ....however I agree with the people who think either guy could get clipped in a long shot , it's heavyweight boxing and for that and the fact that this fight is big enuff now I say MAKE IT HAPPEN NEXT !!! If the fight is gonna be in the US okay maybe get joshua a fight there . ( and big baby is very hittable and will not last 12 IMHO )but in all honestly just do it now in the UK , wilder can make 11 , joshua can make 17 and everyone goes home happy .....nuff said .....BTW I am new here my names norm , I used to hit up the max boxing boards back in the day , figured this may be a good second home ☺Comment

At the time Ortiz was with Matchroom, but the whole PEDs thing blew that fight not any ducking. Think about it, if Ortiz tests positive it draws attention to all Matchroom fighters, which means either AJ is juiced so they want to avoid that kind of scrutiny or he isn’t and they want to avoid that kind of scrutiny/distraction. So, yes they didn’t fight Ortiz to protect AJ but nothing to do with boxing.Comment

He was in negotiations with Pulev because the IBF had ordered that it had to happen, as a mandatory, immediately after the AJ vs Wlad rematch. So when Wlad announced his retirement, that meant AJ had to fight Pulev next, or be stripped of their title.
Pulev had been mandatory for a lot longer than Ortiz, and the IBF had ordered AJ to fight him before the WBA ordered their mando with Ortiz.
Obviously AJ couldn't fight both of them next, so the WBA followed the policy that all the sanctioning orgs had agreed on by allowing the IBF mando to take place before enforcing theirs.
I don't understand why people keep saying that Hearn signed Ortiz to protect AJ. That's just ******, because Ortiz was AJ's mando. Hearn signing him up made no difference to that at all.Comment

"...because Ortiz was AJ's mando." Ortiz played his part! He was supposed to fight the winner of Wlad/Joshua next! Wlad retired, so Ortiz was next! Hearn/AJ knew that before the Wlad fight! They knew why Ortiz came to Matchroom! Ortiz did everything they asked, then they swerved him! Ortiz should have faced either Wlad or AJ before Wilder, but only Wilder was man enough to face him!
Hearn signing Ortiz would have made no difference at all. They couldn't have swerved him if the the WBA had gone ahead and ordered AJ to fight him, but the WBA didn't do it.
The only reason Hearn signed Ortiz was to build his profile in the UK to make more money when he fought AJ. All Ortiz needed to do if he wanted the fight was to wait till the WBA ordered it.
It was his own dumb fault that he left Matchroom and fought Wilder instead, for $500k, and his own dumb fault that he failed another PED test and lost his WBA mandatory position and the chance to fight AJ.Comment
