Golovkin is a granite stone, hard hitting, very focused He-Man of a boxer who wants to own the MW division and be seen as one of the greatest of the historically great division. He can't do it without a clear victory over the best of his day. Alvarez is a huge stepping stone to that goal. I think he is actually pissed that all this cheating talk will taint the victory he thinks he got the first time and is sure he will get this time. He wants a clean fight to go down so there is no doubts.

I do not see the Ward/Kovalev comparisons here so many others do. Different fighters, different stages of their careers, different stakes, different circumstances, and even different interest levels from the public. The only things I really see in common is the first fight had the perception as the fighter who should have won didn't and that the first fights were very close and warranted a rematch.
