U.S. Flops vs U.K. Success

I'll do a over/under bet with you if this fight gets made next. It'll for sure do over 350k imo. Or Hearn isn't as good a promoter as I think.
That said it probably won't happen cuz I don't think Hearn wants it to happen next.Comment

The U.S. is a bigger country and has more financial resources to fund fights? These were considered flops in the U.S.
14k in attendance Mayweather vs. Guerrero = $10 mil gate
12k attendance Mayweather vs. Berto = $10 mil gate
This is considered success in the UK
90k in attendance Joshua vs. Klitschko =£8 mil gate
This wasn't even a superfight
14k in attendance Calzaghe vs. Hopkins = $11 mil gate
Everybody knows the money is in the U.S. Even Barry Hearn said it. Stop playing and fooling yourself. Cotto-Canelo generated more than those £15 PPV's over there.
Joshua vs. Wilder in Vegas is a higher gate and you can charge for PPV's here and there.
UK boxing is still more consistentComment

The prices of those PPV's is wild to me.I think there are just more people in the US with more disposable income.
It ain't gotta be about being ****** enough to get ripped off. Most of the ****** people in the US don't have the $100 for the f#cking PPV in the first place lol.
But lotsa mfers will drop $60 to $100 on a fight they barely care about just cuz they saw it advertised enough like some mfers will get the fries with their burger at a fast food joint cuz the order taker asked.
Unfathomable.
I have an ok job and spend money like water but I wouldn't drop £90 on a boxing PPV.
For us, if you're spending that much you might as well go to the eventComment

How long has the UK been doing PPV's on a consistent basis?
Cuz its not like US PPV's went straight to $80-$100. I believe they started at like $34.95 or some sh^t like that back when TVKO/HBO PPV first got the ball rolling on a consistent basis with Holyfield vs Foreman. Til 1991 PPV's were a spread out few & far between.
And haven't they been raising the price with Joshua PPV's?
We got a bigger country. Hard to go see fights in Vegas all the time unless you live in CA. And unless you live in NY/NJ you'd probably never travel to NYC for a fight. So thats not as viable an option for most people in the US without dropping a grand or so on travel probably. For us, if you're spending that much you might as well go to the eventComment

Yeah I was going to mention the size of the US possibly allowing for the prices of PPV. Here you can just drive from Manchester to London or from either to Cardiff. How long has the UK been doing PPV's on a consistent basis?

But yeah the whole PPV thing is an American concept really. I couldn't tell you when PPV first happened here.
I want to say Lennox Lewis but I'm not sure.
I don't think that price point can shift much above £20 here. Nobody would bother with it.Comment

Their is no real evidence or metrics to go on that it will do better than Andre Ward v Serge Kovalev in 2016.The only thing i am hearing is "they are heavyweights" which is not evidence. This fight needs more building.Comment
