Joshua is content being a big fish in a small pond.

Don’t let facts get in the way of your argument but here’s some stats for you on wilder. Since winning the title his fights have been at following locations:He's said he doesn't care if he never fights in the U.S. or becomes a star over here.
Meanwhile Wilder & Parker are willing to travel the world to defend their WORLD titles. Parker even traveled as the A side against Hughie
Joshua is happy in his safe space. I just don't think this guy has the mentally of a great WORLD champion. Wilder & Parker are following in the steps of Ali.
.
Molina, Alabama, US
Duhaupas, Alabama, US
Szpilka, New York, US
Arreola, alabama, US
Washington, Alabama, US
Stiverne, New York, US
Ortiz, New York, US
Parker has rightfully travelled , but it was inevitable with lack of domestic fighters to both compete with and fill an undercard. Wilder on the other hand , has, to date, defended in only one country - Joshua has two.Last edited by Kezzer; 03-25-2018, 02:11 PM.Comment

Gate money is peanuts compared to PPV and other forms of revenue. AJ v Klitschko did £8m at the gate (about $14m), Bhop v Calzaghe did $11m. From what i'm reading AJ v Takam did £10m at the gate which is about $16/17m which would mean only 4 fights in Vegas have ever done more EVER.
If they fight in the U.S, they'd definitely lose a lot of UK revenue which is massive for AJ. That's due to the timing of the fight (4am UK time) and less promotion on the ground. Wilder isn't even a big name in the U.S, the guy does terribly in drawing power at the gate. AJ could fight a coke dealer and draw more people in than Wilder.
The gate will be lower in the U.S, UK PPV will be reduced but there will be more U.S PPV so it's up to the finance guys to figure out what they can muster for each in terms of purses, PPV projections and gate projections. If it is a minor difference, it'll be held in the UK. As it will be easier for Matchroom to promote and AJ will have home field advantage.Comment

You just ignored everything I posted and made up your own alternative facts. I just showed how a non mega fight in the U.S. does a bigger gate than 90k in the UK. A million people in the UK bought Pacquiao-Mayweather and that came on at what, 4am? So you telling me they won't buy Wilder vs AJ at 4am? But I thought AJ was a big star in the UK. Ya'll are contradicting yourselves.Comment

This thread is utter Stereotypical American arrogance & narcissism.
Joshua is already a megastar & outside of maybe Canelo (debatable) he's the biggest young draw in boxing globally so why should he care SO much about the yanks? If he wants to grow his brand in the states then he can, but he doesn't need America as he's already a MUCH BIGGER star than any Amercian in boxing today.Comment

Pac-Mayweather was literally once in a lifetime kind of matchup....or at least once in a generation. Tyson Fury v AJ would be a bigger fight than Wilder-AJ, forget MayPac.You just ignored everything I posted and made up your own alternative facts. I just showed how a non mega fight in the U.S. does a bigger gate than 90k in the UK. You still wanna ignore it.

How did you show it? Your example of Bhop-Calzaghe did less than AJ's gates lol.
A million people bought MayPac in the UK, people used to stay up for their fights every time they fought, can the same be said for Wilder? We certainly haven't seen the case be made for AJ as he hasn't fought abroad.
I didn't say they wouldn't buy it in the UK if they fought at that time but it's a massive factor. Would it affect yanks abroad if they had to stay up until 4am to watch a fight? of course it would.Comment

For the first time in his life time the UK has the best fighter?
Do you really believe this or are you mentally ill?Comment

What Fury?
Or you mean Lennox Lewis? Lewis fought in the US because the money was there plus with the reputation of Americans never wanting to travel he didn't have any choice.
Lennox did have some big fights in the UK though with Bruno, Ruddock, McCall and Botha.Comment
