He didnt look scared, its as if he had a face of "oh **** I have to grab it and wave it." I mean whats up with you? you got something against Corrales, **** I do but it doesn't bother me that hes Mexican. He even tells Gary Shaw that he had to see Castillo after his first fight with him and said,"this is Mexican pride", He also said in the interview how her mom was in Mexico and that he missed her.
ok, you reminded me about the castillo interview where he did say "this is about Mexican Pride", whats wrong with? **** that, i hate a mother ****en fooney wanna be mother ****er claiming to be somthing he aint.
It just very ****en strange for his corner people to be like that with the mexican flag, and to me their is no doubt in my mind that in the manfredy fight, chico didn't chose to have the mexican flag with him during the walk in.
I know my Chicanos, I know my Mexicans, we are some proud vatos.....Comment

Originally posted by ferocitythats not how i remeber, but i'll have to see the fight again to see how they had it at the end.
though mayweather defeated goyo vargas, i felt is was close and i think this was mayweathers toughest fight to date at the time, and he actually broke mayweathers guard at times. i think chavez and castillo followed vargas formula, even those they all have similar styles with castillo being the strongest. This is why mayweather has been waiting forever to get in the ring with margarito. margarito would press mayweather more so then all three of those guys.
A refresher for your memory. That would be Chavez getting his ass kicked.Last edited by bsrizpac; 06-17-2006, 07:30 PM.Comment

Noone even said he was Mexican, or anything, but had watched him fight before..Comment

I'll post the Duran video i have of him saying his dad is Mexian aftet todays fight.
I acutally at first didn't like Chico cause he was to face and then defeated Roberto Garcia -hes from same hometown im from- then little by little with his performances he won me over. Then at the time when i seen him with the Mexican flag i was oh, ****, homies part Mexican so now i was cheering for him. BUT! When he went up against Castillo how can anyone say Chico was going to win or be able to stand with Castillo? No, way in hell, is what i thought and many of use thought. But he did, and surprised the hell out of me how hard he hits and how well he can take punchs.
But at the time of the fight no doubt i was rooting for Castillo who i was more of a fan of and who i'd always root against somebody else.
Its like if you read some of the old boxing books, or listen to people who talk about the LA Olymic Auditorium where lots of great fighters fought their and many great Mexican fighters always fought their it was packed, and they always went for the Mexican, and aunnouncers would also find it strange that even when a Mexican face a Chicano, the Chicanos in the crowd would root for their Mexican, the pure Mexican instead of the Chicano - Mexican/American.
That why i like boxing too, boxing you can root for your people like they used to do back in the day, and nobody screems racist ****** ****. I like when their are fights and say you got a Puerto Rican v. a Mexican and you got half the crowd cheering for their fighter and the other half cheering for their fighter. Its awsome and the environment is awsome.
I went the Chavez v. Delahoya closed circuit ppv. I was at a huge athletic gym, tons of people crowed in just to see Chavez v. Delahoya. Chavez comes on the screen you can hear a mile aways all the racked and holloering and clapping for Chavez. Then Delahoya comes on the screen and all you hear for miles are the boos from the crowd, awsome atmosphere.
Back to what we were talking about, from now on, i'll just look out for when Corrales says he's part Mexican. Though after the first Castillo fight, Corrales did say, somthing like, "i have to talk to Castillo, this is about Mexican Pride" i can still remember when he said that, that reaffirmed he was part Mexican, but i'll just have to wait and liston. Regardless if he is or not, no doubt homie has respect for Mexicans, i know he grew up around Chicanos, epseically being from Scramento.Comment
