Originally posted by ferocityJose Luis Castillo beat Floyd Mayweatehr, Jesus Chavez was winning when Chavez corner threw in the towel.
Pernal Whitiker had to throw a billion low blows to slow down Julio Cesar Chavez.
Oscar Delahoya defeated both Pernal Whitiker and Shane Mosley.
Robero Duran -yes, he's half Mexican- gave Sugar Ray Leonard his first defeat and almost defeated Marvolous Marvin Hagler, when Duran was already past his best years.
Tim Austin may not have been great but he had a great career and was not supposed to lose to Rafael Marquez and neither was Mark "too sharp" Johnson supposed to lose to Rafael Marquez.
im sure their may be other match ups where a great black fight a great MexicanComment

Originally posted by deliverymanActually at the end of round 7, Ledderman had Floyd winning by 1 round. Rounds 8 and 9, Floyd clearly won. Meaning Ledderman had Floyd up by 3 rounds before the stoppage.
thats not how i remeber, but i'll have to see the fight again to see how they had it at the end.
though mayweather defeated goyo vargas, i felt is was close and i think this was mayweathers toughest fight to date at the time, and he actually broke mayweathers guard at times. i think chavez and castillo followed vargas formula, even those they all have similar styles with castillo being the strongest. This is why mayweather has been waiting forever to get in the ring with margarito. margarito would press mayweather more so then all three of those guys.Comment

And btw, Castillo didn't beat Mayweather.
JLC lost a very, very, very close fight that could've gone either way. "Robbery" isn't the correct term when describing this fight.
Mayweather EASILY won 4 of the first 6 rounds, to say that he didn't win 2 rounds the rest of the fight is pushing it.Comment

If so, and if mayweather was that good, why did mayweater fight so hard to have the fight anywhere but, LA, floyd knows he lost, many people aggree that he lost and even the rematch was very close too. So close was their first fight that that mayweather was afraid to have the fight in la, and la was where the money was but floyd want'd none of that.Comment
