Joshua actually had the audacity to bring up Wladimir Klitscko's name. He wanted to know why Wilder didn't call out Wlad when he held the majority of the the heavyweight titles which is false.

Had Anthony Joshua done his homework, he would have known fully well that Deontay had indeed challenged Wladimir for a title unification bout as early as 2015 after winning the WBC from Stiverne but Klitschko wasn't interested.

It was an obvious duck by Klitschko. His rationale at the time is that Wilder had to face much stiffer challengers, in order to be considered a worthy challenger for him and to unify the titles. He ducked him just like Joshua is ducking him now.

Give it up man. All the Wilder cheerleaders just can't wait to say duck the minute AJ says anything about Wilder. If they weren't incredibly bias with an obvious double standard, they'd realize Wilder has been "ducking" his entire pro career. AJ has STILL fought better competition in his 20 fights than Wilder in his damn near 40 pro fights. Give it a rest. All this AJ is scared/ducking garbage coming from Wilder and his fans is perfectly akin to the pot calling the kettle black.

It's all about risk vs reward for Joshua, and Wilder is just too much of a risk for him with not enough reward. If you go to google trends and look at the popularity of the fighters, you can see that Joshua tops the list, with Wilder in 2nd place, and Parker coming in 3rd. Another indicator of popularity is to look at their social media followers. Again, Joshua is in 1st place, Wilder 2nd, and Parker 3rd. Now, the total purse for the Joshua/Parker fight has been disclosed at an estimated 33 million pounds, with Joshua getting 20 million and Parker getting 13 million. If you do the math, Parker is receiving 40% to Joshua's 60%. After looking into each of the fighters popularity and the percentage that Parker is getting, then you would easily understand that Wilder should get more than Parker and also its not a 50/50 purse split either. Wilder has stated that he will take a 40% purse split, and Joshua is saying be realistic or we will freeze you out. Now, you can make what you want from that, but it looks like Joshua is ducking to me. It wouldn't surprise me if Joshua and Hearn are trying to offer Wilder a 25-30% purse split because of the risk.

Team Joshua started out having nothing positive to say about the prospect of this fight. The backlash got a bit much, and they started talking it up, only to go back to being negative.

The bottom line here is AJ can no longer duck Wilder and claim to be the best heavyweight out there. The pressure is too great.

Matchroom's biggest fear is that Wilder knocks out AJ, and then they have an immediate rematch where Wilder knocks him out again. I personally believe that is what is going to happen and Matchroom is trying real hard to avoid the inevitable.
