Plus I thought you meant there'd be gaps in the schedule so like they'd have a fight in May, but not in June or something like that..

Like I said I trust Steve Kim with TR related sh^t more than most. I've seen a TON of rumors about this sh^t & few facts.

But again I don't see why they wouldn't...or release it somewhere. I mean if this is the normal model for a $60-$100 PPV idk why it wouldn't be for a $4.99 monthly service.
Time will tell, man. Let’s see what happens next.

I don't see a free trial for this **** like some are saying.. I read that they bought the rights to all out-of-market MLS matches to be shown there. Also will be showing NHL games and MLB games on the app as well. I don't think they'll even have a backlog of fights like a WWE network, I think it will just be for live events.

Why not? Thats a pretty standard promotion for a new product in particular when its from a proven entity like ESPN.

Sh^t man I still get free trial month offers for Hulu & other similar sh^t TODAY its such a winning risk/reward model to attract new customer.

From my understanding free trials result in about ~15% of those people keeping the service for 3mos or longer after the trial. Its a -50ish ROI at those 3 months & you are gonna be in profit after 7-12mos. Its not a bad bet at all. I'll be surprised if we all aren't watching Crawford vs Horn for free.

I'm saying that because they just bought rights to MLB, NHL, and MLS games to be shown there. Giving that **** away for free doesn't seem feasible to me. If Horn-Crawford is in June, the app could already be in it's 2nd or 3rd month of service then.

But I hope you're right, and answering the original question, I'll cop the app to see the fight.

I assumed the app was aimed at folks that don't have some type of subscription service. So you're saying that even though your subscription carriers ESPN, you won't have access to the ESPN app? I already have it on my fire stick and use my subscription to log in to watch stuff. This will be a separate a la carte service?

I suspect it'll be a rolling free trial, like is the standard. So us as boxing fans aren't likely to even call in the free trial offer til the day(s) before the fight.

This app is gonna be called ESPN+. Different from the standard ESPN app.
