I'm not going to say that I know him, but when we do run into each other we always greet each other. I remember him just as this heavy kid with a huge head for his age back then. A very hard worker, we would be training, watching each other spar but never in a million years would i have imagine that he would become the Heavy Weight Champion of the World! Emile Griffith was a great fighter (5x world middlewgt champion) & trainer (was brought over to assist with Wilfred Benitez & Juan Laporte) I've seen him up close how he conditioned his fighters back then, something to really marvel about. But bro, you just took me back with your discriptioned of the big glass window of the gym facing 42nd St....wow! Speaking of Breakfast...I forgot what i ate this morning...LMFAO!
Lol Glad I could transport you to a different time and place, brother. It’s always a cool feeling when someone strikes a note. No one who didn’t live the old Times Square would believe what it once was — open drug dealing, murders on the street, sex shops, etc. Real seedy shit, as in “Taxi Driver.” Now it’s Disney.

What you said about never imagining Tyson would become heavyweight champ reminds me of a similar non-boxing-related experience I had back in the day. I used to frequent the NYC dance clubs back in the eighties. I ran into Madonna a couple of times at the clubs. She was basically nobody back then. Just a small-time singer with one single. Who would’ve thought she’d later become a superstar? You never know...

In those 2 terrible loses were in his prime. I truly believe that Trevor Berbick, Pinklon Thomas, James Bonecrusher Smith, Frank Bruno, Razor Rud****, Carl Williams, Michael Spinks (was small but very athletic & agile, elusive. If Sanders & Brewster cracked him, Spinks had better skilss and was harder to hit) & yes, The Buster Douglas that beat Tyson is much better then Cory or Brewster!
Hey dummy, I said Vitali Klitschko. They're two different fighters. At least follow along if you're going to talk sh@t.

Klitschko lost to both of the best fighters he ever faced by TKO lol. His best win is over Sam Peter

No need for me to explain any further how idiotic you are.
Lol Joe Frazier has one good win over Ali and Foreman has beat Frazier so that alone Trumps 16 title fight wins? Give me a break. Vitali would have EASILY beat Frazier or Foreman. Not even a question. Lets not forget that he was beating both Byrd and Lewis and say what you want but the worst LL got knocked out twice and retired right after feeling Vitali pressure of a pending rematch. Yeah, you're definitely the idiot here. By a wide, long margin.

This thread has spawned some of the craziest views I've seen in recent times. I've seen Chageav, Povetkin and Peter as better than Frazier and Liston and as good as Foreman, Joe Louis at the bottom of a top 10 and the Klits above Ali.

Yesterday I saw Judah, Hatton, Corrales better than Duran, Hearns, Benitez and De La Hoya better than Hagler.

I think I need to take the weekend off!
Lol! So, Foreman who beat little Frazier and bum Moorer to win the titles and was 4-3 in title fights, ranks over Vitali, who was 16-2 in world title fights? Do you honestly believe that or are you hung up on George's fame as well? News flash: Foreman is famous for a very late title run that included a losses to Tommy Morrison and Holyfield. Big fkn deal.

You are in the same deluded boat as everyone else who thinks just because a fighter faced Ali at one point that they were good. Come off it already. Ali faced a sh@t load of bums that the Klitschko's would be ate alive for beating.

Are you aware that Liston was 2-2 in world title fights? Are you ranking him 3rd because he fought Ali too or just messing around? Lol

And Ali 7th? Are you serious? I think he's overrated and can't even rank him out of the top 3.

Huh? You calling me a dummy? This is men talk here. And what that makes you? I posted a 2nd post acknowledging my error. Vitaly had would've had his arse handed to him if he fought a prime Ruddock, Carl Williams. A prime Foreman KO's Vitaly in the 2nd round! A prime Foreman KO's Wladimir in 1 minute of the 1st round! The Buster Douglas that beat Tyson beats Vitaly.

                      Talk to me SON!
