I love it. This is my most anticipated fight of the year.
I really didnt expect this fight to materialize but it’s another example where bouts can happen if rival promoters/networks are willing to work together.

Good height, reach, and overall size advantage by Linares. Tougher fight than Russell Jr. was, that's for sure. Let's see how well Loma translates to another weight class.
In short, It can only be determined in the ring.

TC and Loma are only 5 months apart in age, yet TC has been fighting Pros since 2008, and has won lineal titles in 2 weights classes, and Unified the titles @ 140! I don't see how ESPN can rank Loma above TC, especially with a loss on his (Loma's) record. Very disrespectful!
Lineal titles don't exist. It's a mythical belt or show me proof of someone holding a lineal belt. People can't even make up their minds on what exactly the belt is and how someone wins it. They just basically give it out to their favorite fighters. Some say it's the Ring belt, others say it's based on this ranking or that ranking, etc.
Crawford had to beat Burns, Gamboa, and Beltran to get that crap. That's all you have to do? Answer: No, because I've seen fighters beat much better opposition in their weight class and somehow are not considered the lineal champion.
By the way, Beltran is the same guy that is considered a cherry pick for Loma, but it was such a great next level win for Crawford that got him FOTY for 2014.
Linares is better than anyone Crawford fought at Lightweight. This would be Loma's first fight at Lightweight. Is he going to be considered lineal for beating someone better than what Crawford had to do at Lightweight? It's not like Terence had a long run as a lightweight champion either. He only defended his title 2 times. There are other fighters that have done more in their weight classes, yet NEVER became lineal champions, so what exactly is the criteria?
Gamboa is probably still Crawford's best win and in most people's opinion he lost to Jason Sosa, who isn't even a top 3 win for Loma.
If you don't give Loma any credit for Rigo, then you can't give Crawford credit for Gamboa; since the size difference was even bigger in that fight, yet people praise Crawford for that win. I'm not saying you have to praise Loma for that Rigo win, but keep it fair, you also can't praise Terence for that Gamboa win.
If undefeated records mean so much then you can't give fighters credit for beating fighters that already have defeats.
So, Klitschko is the GOAT, because he beat around 15 or so undefeated fighters, but AJ will soon be the GOAT because he has already defeated about 6 undefeated fighters in 20 fights. Already more undefeated fighters than Crawford. Loma only has 11 fights, so he can still match him.
