      If it's the war I expect it to be, the extra weight won't hurt. It might help Quigg take Valdez punch better and if Quigg can do that, you know Oscar's not hard to find.
      I doubt if it was intentional to come in heavy, but I think they decided (probably AM Friday) a fit Quigg going for a win was more important than a depleted fighter with a chance at a belt.

        Quigg was a handful at the weight. Valdez is getting robbed already.

          Quigg should go and beg Joe to take him back. He teaches simple boxing but at least his fighters come in top shape.

Your fighter goes to dehydrate the day/evening before and you might not find out until the next morning that it's simply not going to happen. Then, you make the choice to either have him go through a hard cut, or you decide it's unsafe and have him hold those extra couple lbs of water.

            You're getting confused by the amount weight and thinking they MUST have known. No, that's typically water that they decided not to cut. Many guys cut MUCH more water than that in the 24 hrs leading up to the fight.
            I do know the basics of weight cut trust me.Im saying there were over NOT on just water.Im saying he was heavy in week/s going in.Now I dont have inside info on this but reason I'm sayin it is because and this is the IMPORTENT PART he missed by almost 3pds for a guy who just moved to 26.Thats a a lot of weight to be off by(japan kid did even better I know)and think they knew.

              Do they do the glove handicap?

              Valdez = 8 oz gloves
              Quigg = 10 oz gloves

                Foul! What kind of rule says Quigg can't try to make weight after he missed by two pounds? That's making it easy on him. Make him take off as much as he can. He might make it.

                  I was expecting half a pound or something like that... But 3 pounds??

                  Scott really is going backwards under Freddie roach.

                  He's looked reckless and sketchy his last couple of fights, and now this.

                  Still supporting Quigg and all and hope he wins, but this is just unprofessional.

                  Makes a change to the Mexican failing weight doesn't it... Haha.

                      I wouldn't expect Quigg to miss weight like that and by almost three pounds. This Is a bad look for him. Quigg has skills already as a fighter now you're giving him a weight advantage to go with it. Ooh well I hope Valdez put in the work at the gym he's going to need to be on his game.
