I guess I understand this from a coach's point of view. He probably just wants him overly tested now since from what I read yesterday ("Clenbuterol has a half-life of 36 hours and a detection time of 4-6 days. Therefore consumption of contaminated beef being the cause is very unlikely as the time it takes from slaughterhouse to the plate would more than likely exceed the time frames") a fighter would be able to use it immediately again after testing negative knowing that VADA more than likely isn't going to make another trip in 4-6 days for the next test. And I doubt he'd submit to a hair follicle test which can test back 6 months, was it? I doubt 90% of high level fighters would submit to a follicle test. Even though he gets on many a last nerve at times, one thing I greatly respect about that mouthpiece Wilder is that he champions being a clean fighter. But like Don Catlin, an anti-doping scientist and the founder of UCLA’s Olympic Analytical Laboratory said in the new doc "Icarus" on Netflix: "Testing methods have gotten better, but all of the protocols can still be beaten today."

I think the outrage over this failed test is justified, unless Canelo was living on the moon for the last 25 years he knew that Mexican meat can cause him to fail a drug test. He also had to of known many other Mexican boxers have failed for clenbuterol and blamed tainted meat with varying degree of success.
With all that being said we still live in a country where your innocent until proven guilty, and since there is a chance of it being from tainted meat even if its a 1/10 chance he deserves the benefit of the doubt until they can prove otherwise. It was only trace amounts found in his system which would be consistent with contaminated meat according to the experts. I think the fight should go on but they should fine Canelo 1-2 million to send a message that it cant be used as an excuse anymore due to the widespread awarenessComment

if Sanchez wanted to take a stand against dopers he would call off the fight. but just like everyone involved he wants thay cheese.
the way the WBC and WBA jumped out the window to protect Canelo tells you everything. they called him innocent before anything was established.
that tells you how "thorough" an investigation would be.
Canelo should be required to produce the exact meat he claims was tainted. if it was consumed it was eaten 1-2 days before the test. he should point out where he ate this. if at a restaurant that whole establishment needs to be shut down and investigated because eating tainted meat does have side effects.
but of course all this sht is just wishful thinking. there will be nothing required of Canelo they declared him innocent simultaneously while breaking the news.Comment

I can't wait to see all Cantyellow casual fans whine and b*tch about this. The very same ones who said Pac Man was on PEDS BUT NEVER FAILED A TEST. Canelo is GUILTY and should be stripped. He's a cheat. Right, those of you that crticized Ortiz for BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICINE? Hypocrites. Cantyellow The pampered Diva if there ever was one. The WBC will let him skate as will the WBA. Why? ODLH.
I'm not making excuses for Canelo and if it turns out he indeed cheat on purpose then he should be banned for a year and made to pay a huge fine.
That should be the punishment for PED users.
First time offenders get banned from boxing for a year and second time offenders get banned for life.
But it won't happen cause of the money involved but it should.
But even if they can't prove he took the substance intentionally then he should at least be made to pay a fine.
But give that money to Triple g, not any of them corrupt piece of shet alphabet soup organizations.
And definitely not the boxing commission in Nevada. Fucc all of them!Comment

"I'm not an expert," Abel basically says, while abdicating responsibility to Bob Bennett, the same head of the Nevada State Athletic Commission who apparently appointed Adalaide Byrd not only as a judge for GGG-Canelo, but as a teacher for young up and coming Nevada judges, and whose commission has constantly helped their preferred boxers win in an extremely unfair fights, from Maurice Hooker to Andre Ward, from Gervonta Davis to Floyd Mayweather, to Canelo Alvarez.
I don't think actually wants Canelo's PED use to get exposed otherwise the fight will get canceled and he will lose millions of dollars. Which if that's the case, so much for the safety of his boxer, right? Oh, and...
NOT ONCE DID ABEL MENTION HAIR FOLLICLE MOLECULAR ANALYSIS
When Team GGG say VADA needs to do the hair follicle molecular analysis, or they will not fight, THAT'S when we should believe they care more their fighter competing on a level playing field than they do making money. Until then, I think they are just playing their part and acting out their lines until this blows over.Comment

Pacman has never tested positive for a test, so calling him a cheater would be unfair since there's never been proof to that. Just like people like to call JMM a cheater, but he kept himself clean through all of his career.
All boxers take supplements, that's what people don't understand. Whether those supplements are legal or not, well, that's why we have the urine and blood tests, especially the RANDOM tests to which boxers submit themselves so they don't have a chance of cleaning up their bodies of illegal substances.
So if Canelo's tests point to him actually using clem and not being little traces from contaminated meat. Then he's cheating to have an advantage. Even if clem's only purpose is to lose weight fast, that way Canelo can focus on training strength and not worry too much about making weight like any other fighter, that's why it's a clear advantage.Comment

This is bad news for Canelo and for boxing. It is in Canelo's best interest to have this thoroughly investigated and then monitored until fight time, but even with the most rigorous follow-up testing, Canelo will not get the benefit of the doubt from his many detractors. PEDs are a serious problem in many sports, but that is only one of many ways of cheating and that is really the larger issue -- how to eliminate cheating in all its forms.Comment
