Comments Thread For: Freddie Roach Wouldn't Be Surprised If Quigg Knocks Out Valdez

Freddie Roach feels Scott Quigg's power has been underestimated entering his featherweight title shot against Oscar Valdez. England's Quigg, who Roach has trained for a little over a year, has knocked out two of his three opponents since he moved up from super bantamweight to featherweight following his split-decision defeat to Carl Frampton two years ago.

Valdez is talented but I feel that he is lacking the skill to make it to the next level, he only fights at one pace and Quigg has enough experience to take advantage on that if he can handle the power.

When does Freddie ever say his fighter WON'T get a KO?

Valdez is legit and he always fight as the hungriest fighter you'll see.

This ought to be a good fight. I am going with Valdez by KO.

Roach not surprised or predicting a KO...I'm not surprised. This mfer was like Willie Monroe & BJS....I think a KO is pretty much a lock.

If Roach bets on fights no wonder he doesn't want Manny to retire yet. And the really hilarious thing is this dude hit softer then broken up hand 2nd half of his career Mayweather when he was fighting. It was Roach by decision (or catching a L vs his better opponents) all damn day.

I LOVE Valdez, but I am worried about this fight. Marriaga and Servania both gave him hell, but it doesn't seem like he's improved much or made any adjustments. He has awesome power, but throws everything at 100%, so opponents are starting to adjust to it once they make it through a few rounds. I think if Quigg survives the first 4 or 5 rounds he might get a late stoppage victory

I wonder how the weather will impact this event. Seems like there's a good chance of rain Saturday.
