If he kayos 3G then ppl will say he was juiced. Definitely a bad look for Canelo. This shouldn't happen to world class athletes with the tainted meat explanation. Too bad.
    Do not worry,
Canelo gonna gas out and get stopped meat or no meat.

The New York Times’s Juliet Macur, reporting on the Contador case, wrote the following in Sept 2010:

“Fernando Ramos, a professor at the University of Coimbra in Portugal who has studied clenbuterol contamination in meat for 20 years, said it was highly unlikely that Contador tested positive from eating meat other than liver, noting that the concentration would have to be so high that the animal would have died before being slaughtered.

“When asked what the chances were that Contador’s positive test, even at such low levels, was a result of the meat he ate, Ramos said, 'I can say 99% it's impossible'.

Ramos says it’s possible to ingest detectable amounts of clenbuterol from livestock—but only if you eat the liver of the animal, “where clenbuterol is known to accumulate.” And then you would get terribly ill.".

Well there it is. Full blown drug use on display here. Thanks for pulling this from a solid source.

Vargas, Morales and now Canelo have all tested positive for the same thing and claim the tainted meat excuse. If that's the case wouldn't many more Mexican fighters be testing positive for tainted meat? Ironically all those 3 fighters have one thing in common, promoted by Oscar's GBP and all 3 pretty much got away with the meat excuse.

Ironically Canelo was putting Chavez JR on blast during the lead up of their fight for a failed drug test. Yet Canelo gets busted for the exact same thing.

I believe Victor Conte said it best. A 6 month time frame, roid for 3 and by training camp/fight time its gone. Total B.S. A bad calculation is what i see her.
              Great points and conclusion

The fight will go on of course, what are Golovkin's choices? On the positive side, Canelo presumably can't use the same excuse twice so maybe he comes into this fight clean. I'm guessing that this was not the case the first time and that they've had this "mulligan" in their back pocket just in case whatever they are doing to hide PED use didn't quite work.

My question is this, will Canelo reap any benefits from his PED use after being clean for 2 months? I'm thinking No.

Thanks for that. Anything that clears this up now that Alvarez is involved is a breath of needed fresh air. If I read that correctly, the results between the tainted meat samples found in meat is scientifically unable to be discerned from the actual PED used by cheats.

Makes sense that this is an issue then. So long as only trace amounts exist, anyone can claim the tainted meat and there is zero way to prove otherwise.

They got caught cheating, and should be banned!!!

I think you may be taking the conversation to far. You, and several others, are now assuming all on your own you know his social, weekend, eating, and nutrition habits? He lives in a high castle looking down upon the unwashed masses, never goes out to eat, never grabs a steak at a childhood friends house on a Saturday night?

I really want to stick to facts. I do NOT want to become a Alvarez defender, but we truly do not have a pattern of cheating from him (yet). There is an acknowledged problem with beef being tainted with a steroid used on the cattle that also shows up in urine in testing. Until we know more, would it kill everyone to hope for the best?

I want to see Trip G win in the ring, not be denied his chance due to a trace amount of near nothing.
